This is a meditation to help you drift into a peaceful sleep.
We're going to take a train ride into the countryside.
So if you are nice and snuggly in bed now,
Just make sure that you are comfy and of course you can move and readjust whenever you want.
So take a few deep breaths all the way down into your belly and take your time to breathe out.
And another nice deep breath and again take your time to breathe out.
So imagine that you are at this old quaint station in the middle of nowhere and this long train in front of you stretches out into the horizon.
And as you are walking along the train you want to pick the right wagon,
Just the right one for you to get on.
So when you find it,
Hop on and sit down and get comfy.
Take a window seat,
You want to look out.
We're going to see some extraordinarily beautiful scenery on this journey.
So have a look around before we start,
Notice all the details.
Notice all the smells,
All the sounds,
The workers outside getting the train ready.
And feel the vibrations now starting as the engine is starting up and is building up power to pull this long long train.
And as you begin to roll out of the station very very slowly,
Just take another nice deep breath in anticipation of this relaxing,
This blissful journey.
And as the train is picking up speed you can hear the sound of the wheels,
You can feel the vibrations getting more intense,
Stronger.
The sounds getting louder until everything evens out into a soothing hum,
Lulling you into relaxation.
As you are looking out the window,
The evening light,
The gentle evening light is letting you know that it will be sunset and then night very soon.
And all you have to do right now is just enjoy the beautiful nature outside,
Tall trees passing by,
The mountains in the distance,
The clouds in the sky.
And the sun getting lower and lower on the horizon,
Starting to become orange and red and giving everything a suffused warm light.
As you start seeing the colours in the sky,
A breathtaking beautiful sunset forming just in front of your eyes.
The orange,
The pink,
The gold,
Fading into a tender blue and then outside the windows on the other side a deeper blue,
A night sky blue.
And you can see the mountains in the distance also taking on different colours,
Different shades,
Blue and grey.
Getting hazy,
Getting more dreamy.
You can see the meadows becoming golden as well,
As if they were reflecting the sky.
Sharing in that peace,
Sharing in that evening peace,
Getting ready to sleep.
As your eyelids are becoming heavier and heavier,
As the sky is turning to darkness,
The petals are now giving way to a forest.
You can feel the air getting cooler on your skin.
You can smell the green fresh scent of the trees around you.
Notice how you can see the moon in between the branches.
Notice how it's bathing everything in moonlight.
And the steady,
Lulling,
Reliable hum of the train is becoming even more soothing,
Making you feel even more sleepy,
More and more relaxed,
More and more ready to just let go and drift off.
So just let yourself relax,
Because right now you don't need to do anything.
You don't need to be anyone.
You don't need to be anywhere.
You can just allow sleep to wash over you.
You can just allow your body the time it needs to heal.
And notice how your breathing is slow now.
Notice how it is relaxed.
Aren't you getting sleepier and sleepier,
Slowing down,
Letting your unconscious mind take your reins now.
Opening you up to dreams,
Opening you up to a place of peace,
A space where you can be yourself,
A space where you are safe,
You are cradled,
You are creative,
You are discovering ways to achieve your goals,
To solve any problems,
To fulfil your dreams.
And just relax more and more into the grateful awareness that the day is done.
You did the best you could and now it is time to rest.
Now it is your time to heal,
Your time to let go,
Recharge and dream.
Your body is feeling heavy in a very pleasant way,
Completely relaxed as any remaining tension is gradually fading away.
Your mind is clear.
Your body is allowing and embracing this time of rest,
Relaxation and healing.
You can now let go all of the thoughts from the day,
You don't need them now.
You can just allow any tension to leave your body or your mind,
You don't need it now.
You can just allow yourself to feel gratitude for your comfy bed,
For your comfy pillow,
For being embraced,
For being safe,
Being supported.
You are peaceful,
You are still,
You are calm.
You are drifting into a blissful sleep.
Just floating around,
Just drifting into peace.
Letting everything come and go,
Letting any sensations come and go,
Any fleeting thoughts,
Not needing to cling on to anything,
Just watching them like waves in the sea.
Coming in,
Going out,
Coming in,
Going out again.
As sleep is embracing you.
As the hum of the train is getting fainter and fainter in your awareness,
Just like my voice.
And as this sleepy train is gently rolling through the forest,
Rolling through the night,
Let this gentle hum fade into the distance and my voice fade into the distance.
And drift into sleep now.
That's it.
Night night.
Night night.
Night night.
Night night.
