Forgiveness from others.
This is a meditation asking for forgiveness.
In our lives,
We will inevitably cause hurt to others out of confusion,
Fear and pain.
We don't always understand the impact that our words and actions have upon another person.
Remorse and guilt are the burden borne of habitual fear and hunger.
By asking others for forgiveness,
We free ourselves to be sensitive,
Honest and compassionate in the present.
Assume a posture of ease and balance,
Gently closing your eyes.
As you breathe out,
Release agitation and chaos within your mind.
Allow the emotions,
Images and memories of the times when you hurt others to arise in your mind.
Sense the sorrow you feel for any way you may have harmed another person,
Intentionally or unintentionally.
As the many different situations and people come to mind,
Make room for each and every one of them.
Sense what it will be like to release yourself from this burden.
Allow yourself to feel the wounds of your regret slowly begin to heal.
Move your attention to those from whom you are asking forgiveness.
Invite those people into your heart and attention.
Allow them to sit with you in your meditation and share with them the following phrases.
I ask your forgiveness for any way in which I have caused you pain or hurt.
I ask for your forgiveness for any way in which I have neglected you.
I ask for your forgiveness for any way in which I have made you fear me.
I ask your forgiveness for any way in which I have made you fear me.
Rest your attention in those phrases for a moment,
Keeping your focus in the present.
Let go of past regret as you make a commitment to kindness and openness of the heart in the present.
Once you feel ready,
Open your eyes and relax your posture.
Namaste.
