Hello and welcome to this meditation which I'm calling Sit Still.
So it gives you the opportunity to be able to release,
Notice,
And let go all within these few moments that we are taking out of your day to just find a little inner peace and stillness within your own self.
So I invite you to find a comfortable position,
Whether that's seated in a chair with your feet planted on the floor,
Back upright but not too rigid.
I tend to sometimes lie down,
However that could lead you to sleep,
But because this is going to be a short meditation,
My preference is for you just to be comfortable.
And so as you have found that comfortable place,
I'm going to invite you just to close your outer eye and if that's not comfortable for you,
You can just slightly bring them down to a low gaze,
Whatever's most comfortable for you.
And just remember,
There is no right or wrong way to meditate.
Just the very aspect that you sat in this moment and are listening to this recording means that you have an intention that you've set and that's what we're going to work from in this moment.
So I want you just to take a few deep breaths in with me,
Just holding for two counts in and letting go.
And again,
Inhale in and exhaling out,
Two more and release.
And again in and let it go.
Beautiful.
So we're using the breath to connect to our body just to become so present to this here and this now moment.
And so what I'd like you to do is to bring your awareness to anything that you may be thinking about right now.
If you have any certain thoughts that are coming up and they're arising in your mind,
It's okay.
Just allow them to be seen and to be felt.
Maybe it's one particular thing.
Maybe it's a group of things that are going on in your lifetime right now that's happening in your human experience.
But just allow them to be there.
Just simply observe them.
No judgment,
No disappointment,
No shame,
Just awareness.
Continue breathing through the process.
I've heard it said before that the breath is the most cleansing thing that we can ever do over and over and over throughout the day.
Because as we inhale,
We then release in the exhale all that no longer serves us.
So as you start to notice these thoughts,
I want you to imagine that you're imagining watching them float by like a cloud in the sky.
I sometimes find myself looking in the sky and seeing if there are animals created out of the formations.
And so just picture those thoughts that vividly and that clearly,
Either as the cloud or on the cloud.
Just look at them,
See them,
Let them come in and let them go by.
Just letting them enter and letting them go and reminding you that we come back to the breath as this is all going on simultaneously,
Allowing yourself just to be the witness here in your own living experience that you're at no one's defense.
You are not the victim of any experience.
We are just becoming real to this now moment.
We sometimes call this freedom,
The entanglement of having anywhere from 60,
000 thoughts throughout the day and 90% of them negative.
Imagine what that's like to release and let go over and over and over.
So just checking in every hour can make such a difference in your life.
And so that's the invitation in this meditation is just to continue watching and bringing your attention back to the breath and notice any sensation that you have as the breath is moving in and out and simultaneously as the thoughts are released and letting go,
Released and letting go.
Continue seeing the cloud like images potentially with the thoughts,
Or maybe you have created the clouds to be the thoughts.
But whatever it is,
Focus on it,
Watch it rise and let it go.
And now coming back to the breath,
Allowing the chest and the belly to rise and to fall air moving in and air moving out.
And if your mind starts to wander,
Just gently bring your attention back to your breath and let go of any of those thoughts that come up.
And remember,
Our goal is never to stop thinking.
It's the ability to observe our thoughts and those that no longer serve us to let them go and back to the breath and letting go.
And then for the next few moments,
Just focus on your breath.
If your mind wonders or if an overwhelming thought comes,
Just envision the cloud and let it go.
And now focusing on this present moment for the next few moments,
Inhaling and exhaling in a pace that is comfortable to you.
Inhale and exhale.
Notice and let go.
Inhale and exhale.
Notice and let go.
And our last one.
Inhale,
Exhale,
Notice and let go.
Thank you so much for joining me on this five minute meditation.
And just remember,
Practice,
Practice,
Practice will allow you the ability to become more and more aware and give you the opportunity to release and let go and practice becoming more present now and always throughout your very life.
Love and light.
Namaste.
