Walking In The Forest Meditation

Welcome to this guided meditation with Teddy Bass.

The times that we're going through these days,

It's time just to take a moment,

Find a place where you can be still and uninterrupted for the next 10 to 15 minutes.

And let's just take ourselves through a nice little guided experience where anything that might be going on in your life can be shifted.

So I invite you to just sit or lie in a really comfortable position.

And as we start all processes,

Whether it be prayer,

Meditation,

Guided,

And or just sitting in the stillness,

I invite you to focus on your breath.

Just taking in a few breaths with a three-count inhale and a three-count exhale.

And inhale for three counts and exhale.

And so as we become present to the breath,

Just do a little acknowledgement and checking your body,

Making sure your shoulders are relaxed,

Fingers,

Feeling the chair beneath you,

And just relax,

Allowing your breath to go deeper so you feel your belly expand and contract.

And so as I said,

This is an imagination meditation.

So I want you just to imagine yourself standing at the edge of a beautiful forest.

And I want you to feel the cool,

Fresh air on your skin.

And now use that inhale to just breathe in all of that greenery,

All the smell and the sense of the earth from the trees,

The wild blooms.

Just take that all in.

And now we're going to take our first step into the forest,

Feeling yourself actually becoming one with the forest,

Trees all around you.

Now you hear the soft crunching of the leaves beneath your feet.

You can feel the warmth of the sunshine that filters onto your face coming through the trees,

Casting that warm,

Gentle glow that you feel across your face and around your body.

Now we're walking deeper into the forest,

And I want you to notice the different types of trees.

Some are tall,

Some are shorter,

But I want you just to look at them.

Notice the bark,

The branches,

The leaves.

Just take a moment to appreciate the different shades of green in each of them,

Even the intricate patterns of the bark.

Step a little closer and just look.

Wow,

Look at that.

Each unique piece of bark is separate,

Yet they all make up that one tree.

And so as we continue walking,

You can start to hear the sounds of the birds.

They're singing in the distance.

You can hear the rustling of small animals in the undergrowth.

Take a moment to know and appreciate all that harmony of nature that's always there.

But now that you've taken a moment out of your day to step into the forest,

You become aware of it.

And as you walk along the path,

You notice a small stream floating nearby and it's flowing its water.

You just take a moment,

Just listening to that sound of water as it flows over the rocks,

Rushing through the wind.

Just continuing on this journey,

Walking down the path,

You see a small opening that you're coming and approaching.

You decide to take a moment and rest and you sit down on a nearby rock or maybe even a tree trunk that's been cut down.

And as you rest,

I want you just to take a few breaths right here and right now and just feel the peace,

Feel the tranquility,

All from the forest that's washing over you.

Notice that feeling of relaxation and calmness that arises within you,

Present in the here and the now.

Grateful for the nature all around you.

Breathe it all in,

The sounds,

The sights,

All of it.

And when you're ready,

Let's go ahead and stand up and continue our journey,

Walking through the forest.

You notice the sun starting to set and the colors of the sky are starting to change.

And as we approach the end of our walk,

I just want you to take a few moments and appreciate the opportunity and the beauty and the eloquence and the uniqueness of the forest that we were able to journey through today.

And hopefully a little bit of peace that this was able to apply within you,

Peace of mind that it afforded you.

Just breathing it in,

Giving thanks,

True appreciation.

And when you're ready,

Slowly bring your awareness back to your surroundings.

Take a few breaths in,

Looking around with fresh,

Clear eyes and hopefully you can welcome yourself back to a new perspective,

Looking through new eyes,

Imagining this walk is available to you at any moment.

It's just seconds away,

So please feel free to revisit this meditation that I have posted for you on Insight Timer and share with anyone that you feel might need it,

Someone that might need to relax and reconnect with nature.

Maybe they got so caught up in their own lives or they're just in a rush.
