Hi love and good morning.
Let's begin your day with a little more calm,
A little more breath and a little more space for yourself.
Wherever you are sitting,
Lying down,
Standing,
Let your body arrive.
Loosen your shoulders,
Soften your hands,
Let your jaw unclench.
Take a slow breath in through your nose and a soft exhale out of your mouth.
Let yourself feel the weight of your body,
Feel the support beneath you,
Feel yourself held.
You don't have to be fully awake yet,
This is a gentle beginning.
Let your next inhale fill your chest or belly and on your exhale imagine releasing a little bit of yesterday,
Just a little,
Just what's ready to go.
Now let's bring in calm through the breath.
Inhale for a count of two,
Pause for one and exhale for three.
Again,
Inhale for two,
Pause for one and exhale for three.
Feel how even the smallest lengthening of your exhale creates space in your mind.
Feel how your body responds quietly,
Subtly to being met with softness.
If your thoughts are already racing ahead,
That's okay,
You don't need to silence anything,
You're simply choosing presence for a moment.
Now bring your awareness to your heart area.
You might feel warmth or just awareness or maybe nothing at all,
Anything is welcome.
Take one soft breath toward your heart and whisper gently inside yourself,
May I start this day with calm.
Let's do that again.
Exhale,
May I start this day with calm.
Let this calm feeling expand,
Even if only slightly,
Into your chest,
Into your shoulders,
Into your belly and into your mind.
And remember,
Calm doesn't mean the day will be perfect,
Calm simply means you're choosing to meet the day from a steadier place.
Take one final grounding breath and when you're ready,
You can slowly begin to move into your morning.
