Let's take a few moments,
We're going to consciously choose to take a few moments away from what is really been stirring,
Moving around in our bodies and in our minds,
And just giving ourselves some grace here as we choose,
Actively choose,
To return back to our state of peace.
And it doesn't really matter what has knocked you off your kilter of peace in the external world,
All that matters is that right now,
You're willing to return back to the conscious seat of awareness of the witness returning back home.
So as we move deeper and deeper into this choice of returning back to peace,
Let's find a comfortable place for us to be.
We'll choose to settle our body by creating a comfortable place either to sit or lie down for a few moments and breathe,
Just hitting the imaginary pause button on our day so that we can take care of ourselves and return back to our natural state,
Our state of ease,
Of awareness,
The state of balance and calm,
Even when challenging things arise,
Choosing and making that choice to return back time and time again so more and more trust can be built in your ability,
Your ability to self-soothe,
To tend to the inner waves of mind and emotion.
So finding yourself in a seated position or lying down or anywhere where you can be undisturbed for a few moments and as you find this place,
Let your body relax and do your best to just release any tension in the shoulders.
First,
Let the shoulder blades slide down your spine.
Let any tension in your belly release and relax in your face,
Too,
Allowing all of the muscles in your face to relax.
And as you allow yourself to relax a little bit more in this moment,
Your body,
You might allow your awareness to shift to your breath,
Too.
And as you relax your muscles and let your bones get a little heavier,
Notice the way that your breath just naturally moves through your body.
You can let your breath do whatever it pleases and just really choosing to watch it,
To watch the gentle inhalation,
The expansion of your body,
The opening.
And as you exhale this gentle relaxation and easing into a peace,
Just taking a few moments to watch your breath move in and out of your body.
And in this pause that you're giving yourself,
Allowing a few moments of distance between the occurrence that have stirred you up a little bit,
Anything in the past,
Just gently creating some space from where you are now and whatever has occurred ever.
Really allowing yourself for a few moments to not meddle in the happenings of the past,
Just letting yourself fully rest in the here and now of this moment.
And as you create distance between the now moment and whatever has occurred in the past,
You might also allow your mind to disengage from any future events as well.
Knowing that right now,
In this now moment,
There's no need to try to figure out the future.
What's most beneficial for you right now is to stay present,
To stay in your body,
To let your body relax and breathe.
And so giving yourself a few moments to really sink in,
Sink into the present,
Sink into your body and your breath,
Letting go of external gripping and grasping,
Letting everything turn in,
Turning all the senses inward.
You might even imagine yourself closing these doors to the external world.
So allowing your vision to turn in.
If your eyes are already closed,
Allowing them to close down.
And for your gaze to be deeply inward.
And doing the same with all the other senses and gently walking around and closing doors.
All parts of your awareness to be deeply entrenched in what is.
Your body,
Your breath,
Allowing there to be a deep relaxation in your jaw.
Allowing the soothing and relaxing sensation to move over your heart center.
Almost coating the heart with a warmth,
A comfort and a sweetness.
And giving your heart an energetic embrace as you slow down.
Take a few moments to recenter,
Recalibrate.
As you continue to watch your breath move through you,
You might feel the focus.
The energy that was caught in your mind slowly starting to move.
Where you're creating some space for yourself.
To feel balanced again,
To feel centered again.
To feel anchored to truth,
Anchored to wisdom.
And letting go of the hooks that are still cast into the past or into the future.
Into the what-ifs,
Into the problems that need to be fixed.
Just letting those hooks unlink and anchoring deep and deep.
Whenever the mind wants to get curious and move and hook its lines into past or future events.
Just gently release the hook and return.
And do so in a warm and loving way,
Guiding the mind back time and time again.
To the home of the heart.
As you continue to rest in heart center,
Allow yourself to rest around your heart.
All the muscles that surround your heart and the flesh and bones.
Just letting that relax and also moving a little deeper.
Relaxing energetically around your heart.
Creating soothing and creating some space for yourself to just be for the moment.
And releasing the idea that something needs to be fixed right now.
Take a few deep breaths.
Breathing in slowly through your nostrils.
Just watching a little bit more depth of all the wisdom that it has to offer.
This coolness,
This refreshing and almost life-giving inhale.
As it enters in and fills you up,
Expands you.
And a warmth,
A relaxation and a settling in on your exhale.
The sense of grounding and acceptance all the way.
Receiving fully.
And as you exhale,
Letting yourself settle and relax.
And continuing to slowly breathe in.
And recognizing this cyclical pattern.
A constant receiving and releasing.
And you might notice the subtle pauses between your inhale and your exhale.
Maybe give yourself a few moments to linger in the pauses between each cycle of breath.
Each inhale and each exhale.
And as you continue to breathe and be with your breath,
You might recognize and notice how this cyclical pattern of receiving and letting go is represented in the breath and in parallel to every occurrence in life.
Notice the sweetness of your inhale.
The sweetness of your exhale.
And both ends.
How beautiful it feels to breathe in a birth,
A newness,
A receiving.
And how comforting it feels to breathe out.
An offering,
A releasing,
A surrender.
As you allow yourself to linger in the spaces between.
Notice how that feels.
An honoring and a closure of every receiving and releasing.
Just floating in the space between the pause.
And as you allow yourself to relax deeper and deeper with each cycle of breath and recognizing and acknowledging the cycle.
Be able to find a sense of ease over the situations that are at hand.
Sinking a little bit deeper into trust as you breathe in and breathe out.
This gentle and slow.
Really giving yourself some time here.
As you return back to heart.
To sit with us the impermanence of all things.
The seat of awareness.
As things come and as things go.
We can honor the space between receiving and letting go.
And the demands of the external world at hand.
But we can choose to do that by grasping,
Reaching,
Or creating aversion or pushing away.
That's one way.
And there's another way.
There's another way to approach it.
To sit in your seat of awareness with your body,
Your breath,
In the present moment.
To allow things to play out.
While staying balanced.
While choosing to return time and time again to the heart.
Knowing that this is where peace lies.
Where the most brilliant wisdom comes from.
A calm,
Steady,
And present being-ness.
That you are.
And if the hustle and the bustle of daily life takes hold of you.
That your seat is always waiting for your return.
And you find yourself here now.
Calm,
Centered,
And aware.
Acknowledging what is occurring in life.
You might imagine the seat of awareness or this place where you're finding calm and balance.
Like the undercurrent of a river.
So,
For a moment,
You might feel the difference.
Allowing yourself to float into the happenings and the disturbances.
And let that be like the rapids of a river.
Or the crashing waves of an ocean.
When we are in the rapids,
When we are in the crashing waves.
The energy can feel very volatile.
It can pull you to and fro,
Up and down.
And this is what happens when we stick our fingers in or sink our teeth in.
To the ever-changing mind.
And as you breathe deeply this time,
Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth.
And as you breathe out through your mouth,
Allow yourself to sink back a little bit.
In your flesh and bones,
You might imagine this sinking back.
As a sinking back into your spine.
And as you sink back into your spine,
You might allow your imagination to move from the top,
The rapids,
The crashing waves,
Beneath the surface.
And into the undercurrent.
Where there's stillness.
Where there's a sense of clarity of what's happening.
Where there's balance.
And when you feel the crashing rapids and waves of emotion and mental chatter.
Giving yourself a few deep breaths in through the nose.
And clearing out through the mouth.
To this deep place of safety.
Of an open and steady heart.
Sitting in this throne of wisdom.
That is able to see what's occurring.
Acknowledge it.
And honor what's occurring above in the rapids.
Holding space for it.
From a place where you can trust yourself.
From a place where you know when to take action and when to not.
What to listen to and what not to listen to.
When to speak and when to choose silence.
Where to avert your focus,
Your vision.
From a place of wisdom.
Instead of fear.
And as you start to feel more settled.
And commit yourself to the undercurrent.
From this place of peace.
You might set an intention.
Into your body.
You might imagine placing it in your heart.
Maybe it would be even helpful to place your hands over your heart as you set this intention for yourself.
And no matter what is occurring.
Letting this intention be planted deeply in the center of your heart.
Where the energy of your intention will beat and pulse and move through your veins.
Allowing there to be a fluidity of this movement of your intention.
Healthfully and powerfully moving through.
As you breathe and set your intention.
As your intention moves through your veins.
Through your flesh and your bones.
And as you choose to move back in.
To your daily experience,
Your moment to moment experience.
You now have your intention pulsing through you.
Through your body.
And acknowledging.
Your ability to choose.
Your ability to choose to be in the rapids or to be in the undercurrent.
And your intention is set.
And if you find yourself in the rapids again you can always take a few moments away.
Fine.
You'll give yourself a few moments.
As the music plays out.
To gently return back into the body.
Gently moving your fingers.
Allowing subtle movements to start to ripple and roll.
Open the doors of your senses.
Slowly.
Gently.
With this new found stability.
This new found.
Wisdom.
And calm in your body as you move back into your experiences.
Grounded.
Rooted.
Knowing that your seat,
Your throne of awareness is always available to you.
Waiting for you to have a seat in the seat of wisdom.
Take your time.
