Welcome to this meditation connecting with our mentors.

My hope is that whenever we're feeling ungrounded,

Confused,

Or fearful,

That we can go to our mentors,

Their wisdom,

Their values,

As a stabilizing force and a guiding light.

I find this meditation to be impactful and very meaningful.

I encourage you to find somewhere quiet without any interruptions.

And start by taking a posture that feels comfortable,

But allows you to be alert.

You can close your eyes.

And let's turn to the breath.

Take a deep breath in and out.

Deep breath in and out.

The breathing pattern that we're working towards is one where we fill the lungs completely.

We have a slow and long exhale.

If you find yourself drifting away from the breath,

It's okay.

Just gently bring yourself back to the deep breath in and out.

Now visualize a place that is serene and beautiful,

That feels sacred to you.

This might be a garden,

A beach,

A forest.

Any place that you feel comforted and at peace.

Just take in this environment.

Notice the colors and the shapes.

Imagine any physical sensations,

Like a breeze on your arms.

Fully allow yourself to be there.

And imagine you're walking in this space and you see a circle of chairs or cushions waiting for you.

This is a sacred gathering space for you and your mentors.

And you take a seat in the circle and you feel grounded and open.

See if you can invite a deep gratitude into your heart.

One by one,

You see your mentors join you in the circle.

These can be teachers,

Family members,

Friends,

Historical figures,

Or anyone who has imparted wisdom and guidance to you.

You see them take their seats and smile warmly at you.

As your mentors gather,

Look into the eyes of each one,

Acknowledging their presence and the impact that they've had on your life.

Feel your heart swell with gratitude for their teachings and support.

Now focus on your first mentor who comes to mind.

See if you can recall a specific lesson or a piece of advice they gave you.

Hear their words.

Feel the emotions behind their message and feel how it has influenced your journey.

Be with those feelings.

And when you feel like you've fully taken in their presence,

Their impact,

And their connection to you,

Take a moment to thank them.

Send them appreciation from the depth of your heart.

And moving on to the next mentor,

Repeating this process,

Remembering a lesson they taught you.

Hear their words.

Feel the emotion behind their message.

And feel their impact on your journey.

With each mentor,

Allow the essence of their wisdom to fill you,

Noticing the cumulative impact of their teachings on your life.

How all these important people and their wisdom has shaped who you are.

Remembering to take a deep breath in and out.

Do your best to be fully present with each mentor.

Hear their words.

Feel the emotion behind their message.

And feel the impact they've had on your life.

After you've acknowledged each mentor,

Take a moment to reflect on the collective wisdom they've given you.

Can you feel how profound,

Meaningful,

And rich this tapestry of wisdom and values and support has been in your life?

Now imagine a warm,

Glowing light emanating from your heart.

It envelops the entire circle,

Connecting you and your mentors with respect and gratitude.

Can you feel how strong this circle is?

Can you feel how compassionate this circle is?

Can you feel how powerful this circle is?

Know that you carry your mentors with you always,

And they are invaluable resources for any challenge that may come your way.

Express your gratitude for each mentor and their unique contribution.

Acknowledge their ongoing presence in your heart and mind.

Slowly,

You see your mentors standing one by one,

Leaving the circle,

Offering you a smile or a nod of encouragement as they go.

They're so proud of who you are and all that you've accomplished.

Feel the space around you filled with peace and calm and a strong balance.

Just bring your focus back to your breath,

Taking nourishing deep breaths,

Feeling energized and inspired by the memories and lessons you've revisited.

Gradually begin to bring your awareness back to the present moment by moving your arms,

Wiggling your fingers and toes,

Moving your head from side to side,

Feeling your body reawaken.

And when you feel ready,

You can open your eyes,

Carrying with you the wisdom from this meditation and the strength from your mentors.

And as you conclude this meditation,

Set an intention to embody the lessons learned from your mentors.

And be curious if there's an opportunity today to share their lessons with someone in your life.

Is there an opportunity to be a mentor,

To be a guiding light?
