Welcome.
If you've been following my meditations,
You'll know that I love a simple topic with a simple breathing exercise and a simple mantra.
And today follows that format pretty perfectly.
And the topic for today is trusting the process,
Which is such a simple idea but a lifelong project,
A lifelong commitment,
Something that I know I have to work at consistently,
Especially when things aren't going my way.
It's very easy to trust the process when the process is pleasant and rewarding,
So much harder when the process is daunting and unrelenting.
It gets challenging.
I don't want to pour pink paint over it.
And also here's a way to bring ourselves back gently.
Let's take a moment to pause and settle in.
Find a comfortable seated position and if you're able,
Close your eyes.
Take a deep breath in,
Filling your lungs completely.
Hold for a moment and exhale slowly,
Letting your shoulders drop.
Bring your attention to the breath.
Notice how it rises and falls.
Notice the rhythm of the breath,
The depth of the breath.
Notice without trying to change anything.
Sometimes going to our edge and noticing is enough to cause a subtle relaxation,
A subtle movement.
We don't need to push past where we are.
Keep breathing naturally.
And today our mantra is going to be,
I trust on the inhale and I allow on the exhale.
Let's get started.
Inhale,
I trust.
Exhale,
I allow.
Inhale,
I trust.
Hold the breath.
Exhale,
I allow.
Inhale,
I trust.
Exhale,
I allow.
Inhale,
I trust.
And exhale,
I allow.
Just let these words wash over you and allow yourself to be carried away by the current,
The flow of the words,
The flow of the breath.
Trust that it will take you where you need to go.
As you breathe in,
Feel the calm of leaning in.
And as you breathe out,
Feel the relief of allowing things to be as they are.
Breathing in,
Feeling the calm of leaning in,
Of trusting.
Breathing out,
Feeling the relief that comes from allowing things to be as they are.
Take another deep breath in,
Imagining trust falling into the hands of the universe,
Into the hands of something greater than ourselves.
Exhale fully,
Releasing any resistance,
Any constriction,
Any frustration.
And when you're ready,
Bring awareness back to the room.
Gently move your hands,
Your feet,
Sway side to side.
And when it feels right,
You can open your eyes.
