Positive Vibes Live (Edited) - Acceptance & Energy
by Sarah Naylor
Recorded live on Insight Timer on 23rd July 2024. During this upbeat and energetic live Sarah talks about the power of acceptance and shares with you some of her personal experiences to demonstrate her wisdom. Expect to be motivated and inspired as you learn how important it is for your health and well-being to let go of stuff you simply have no control over rather than get frustrated and angst ridden. That said, Sarah is practical, and is aware that some battles must also be fought too. Of which she provides a recent, and entertaining, example of where she has in fact NOT accepted a situation and stood her ground!

Let's crack on.
So,
Charlie,
Charlie,
It's Charlie.
Hi,
Charlie.
I didn't realise it was you.
Welcome.
Thank you for listening.
And I can see Ellen's here as well now.
That is awesome.
Hi,
Ellen.
Hi,
Ellen.
Hello,
Everyone.
So,
OK,
Let me crack on then.
Let me get started.
So,
For those of you who are new,
Welcome.
For those of you who have returned,
Welcome.
Hi,
Janet from Chicago,
Illinois.
Wow.
What's it like over there at the moment?
We're in last summer in the UK.
Hurrah.
And Charlie can back me up on that one.
We've actually got and had some sunshine at long last.
For those of you that don't know me,
I'm Sarah Naylor.
I am obviously an Insight Timer teacher.
I'm an international coach.
I'm an author.
I'm a speaker and lots of other things as well.
Businesswoman.
I've been in recruitment and I had a recruitment business until last year as well.
But I'm loving being here on Insight Timer.
So,
Janet just said,
It's beautiful here.
Oh,
Lovely.
So,
If you could all let me know where you are in the world,
That's always good.
I always love interaction.
So,
If there is,
You know,
Anything you want to ask me,
Question,
Just pop it into the chat.
Interact with me because I'm kind of here to answer any questions that you might have as well,
Because that's my real mantle as a coach and introduce you to some tools,
Techniques and things like that.
But one of the things,
Because obviously we're talking positive vibes,
I want to introduce you to the power of acceptance today.
In previous weeks,
I've alluded to my APE mindset methodology,
I am sure,
Which I trademarked,
I think about three or four years ago now.
It was certainly sort of after COVID and I reflected back on my behaviour around how I had pivoted and accepted the situation I'd found myself in.
That was after the bottle of red wine really didn't work,
Didn't have the solutions in that.
And yeah,
So I kind of pivoted and brought about lots of changes.
And when I thought back over how I had adapted myself in previous situations since I left my ex-husband 19 years ago,
One of the key words,
I mean,
My APE mindset methodology is acceptance,
Perspective and energy.
However,
Acceptance is that it's so important.
I delivered a talk on Friday over at Norwich City Football Club alongside Hannah Ranklin,
Who's a times two world championship boxer.
I didn't really know who she was honestly before,
But it was a really honour to take the stage with her as well,
Which is incredible.
However,
I was introducing my mindset methodology during that talk.
So it's really prompted me to look back over that.
And when I was Googling it,
I mean,
There are so many different interpretations of the word acceptance and reasons and how it can actually impact you.
But for me,
Acceptance is very much about accepting where you are in life or the situations that you find yourself in.
If it's stuff that you are passionate about,
Of course,
If you really are not accepting of a scenario,
I will give you an example of my own from Saturday,
A very,
Very recent situation where I didn't accept a certain situation.
However,
It's important to let go of certain things.
You know,
When we can't change them,
You know,
When COVID hit,
We just had to accept it,
Didn't we?
Because we couldn't then just go and demand to jump on a plane and go,
Do you know,
No,
I'm going,
I'm going on this holiday or I'm leaving this county,
This country,
This state.
You just had to unfortunately accept what was presented.
And that can be the same with simple situations where people can suddenly decide to let you down at the last minute.
Your plans can change.
You know,
You could be planning to go out and your car or the transport or whatever it is doesn't happen.
And rather than channeling loads of angst and frustration into something that you really have no control over,
It's far better just to accept it,
Let it go,
And then look at things,
You know,
With a different set of eyes and channel your energy into a different direction.
So coming back to what I didn't accept on Saturday,
Lots of improvisation.
Absolutely,
Janet.
I mean,
That's it.
It's about being creative.
It's having this growth mindset,
Which I talked about last week.
And in fact,
Before I go on to my scenarios,
Just reminding me to say that each week now I am recording my lives.
I am then spending rather a lot of hours editing them because it's bits that you really don't need me chattering on about.
But then I am uploading that to Insight Timer.
And the one from a couple of weeks ago is already up.
I was talking about narcissism and something else.
And then last week we spoke about very much about growth mindset.
So I have uploaded that.
So that's all on there.
Please do go and take a look at my profile.
Loads of free content.
I'm actually now going to be recording,
As I've said,
This every week and uploading that as free content.
I've got a podcast that I've got about 155 episodes that I've pre-recorded that all need editing.
So I'm going to gradually upload all of those and they will be going up as free tracks too.
And then every,
Hopefully record and share two courses,
Which obviously premium per month as well.
So I've got a lot on,
Got a lot on.
And in advance,
Thank you to anybody that does donate because that always helps me and all other Insight Timer teachers as well.
Right.
That was the bit I meant to say at the beginning.
Back to my scenario on Saturday.
Now,
Charlie,
Who is on live with me at the moment,
She lives in the next village to where I am.
And I met her through an event that she was doing just recently.
Where my house is,
The house that we bought it backs onto,
And there's a fence between myself and one of the pubs in the village.
And it has a licence to have live events,
Which is fine.
You know,
Very accepting of that.
Totally understand that they have licences and they put music on.
However,
Their licence on Saturday was for live music from 4pm through till 9pm,
Which is fine.
Yep.
They've got a licence for that.
We got back from Park Run Saturday morning to,
I do like Blondie.
Debbie Harry is awesome.
And I really quite liked hearing Ave Maria blaring out until I realised that that wasn't just the only song they were blaring out at 10 o'clock in the morning.
And it felt like a full-on festival outside my back door.
No,
Absolutely not.
We're not having that.
Yes.
So your mild-mannered Sarah not only grabbed the chair across the lawn,
Stood on the fence and hollered at them to turn it down.
I was waving paperwork at them as well.
So that is a scenario where I'm saying you don't have to accept stuff.
And I had every right to fight my corner on that occasion.
However,
You know,
There is stuff that we don't need to put loads of negative energy into.
You know,
I wasn't wanting to spoil anybody's fun.
That's not me.
As I said,
When I first arrived back,
I quite liked hearing Ave Maria blaring out.
So,
You know,
You have to fight your corner where necessary,
But there's no point fighting stuff that is really just going to drain you of energy.
Yes,
Ellen,
Exactly.
You should have seen me.
I don't think Gareth's even seen me.
That's my partner.
I don't think he's seen me in quite such a rage.
It's like,
Incredible Hulk.
I think I went suddenly rather green.
That was it.
You know,
I didn't want to fall out with anybody.
It was just like,
We can't even hear ourselves in the house.
You know,
It was ridiculous.
However,
You know,
We then changed our behaviour.
And again,
This is when I come back to my ape mindset methodology,
Which is acceptance,
Perspective,
And energy.
So,
You know,
I accepted that they've got this licence.
I didn't accept the volume of noise at the wrong time of day for 45 minutes.
I didn't shout straight away.
We were talking nearly an hour before I waved my paperwork at them.
But yeah,
It was very accepting that that was the licence.
So,
We arranged our day differently.
So,
When the music was due to start,
We just took ourselves off.
We went down for a sea swim.
We nipped into the shops on the way down just to get ourselves a bite to eat.
And then we just sat on the beach.
It was beautiful.
We sat on the beach.
We enjoyed ourselves.
We then went to the pub and watched the sun go down because the sun sets over a place called Hunstanton.
If you want to have a look at it,
Have a look at Hunstanton.
And it's the last place it sets over the UK.
And it's just beautiful.
In fact,
It's the West Coast.
It's interesting because where we are,
It's actually a West Coast where you would think it was East Coast anyway.
Ah,
It's lovely,
Isn't it,
Charlie?
Absolutely gorgeous.
So,
We watched the sunset go down.
And by the time we got home,
They'd just finished the music.
So,
This is what I'm saying.
If I'd have stayed at home and just got really,
Really angry,
There would have been no point.
I didn't accept the music at the start of the day.
I had my shout and then I changed my behaviour because I knew,
You know,
I was accepting of the fact they'd got that licence.
So,
Therefore,
Do I want to listen to bands battling it out in my back garden?
Literally,
There's a fence that's about 100 metres tops between my back window and where their speakers were facing.
My back window was just a fence.
It's just like an eight-foot fence between us.
I know.
So,
Let's do something different.
Let's not waste our energy getting cross and angry and frustrated.
Let's do something that's going to feel good because that's the magic,
You know.
When you accept stuff rather than fight stuff that you don't need to fight because you're never going to win and you're not really that passionate about it,
You can put your energy into something that's so much more positive and enlightening and that's going to bring you so much joy.
And that situation may well have prompted and pushed you into doing something different,
Whereby you might otherwise have just let it all eat you up and get really cross and frustrated about it.
It is what it is.
I can look at last year for me and a lot of you heard me already bang on about last year when my business went into administration,
My relationship with my son broke down,
I had to sell my car to pay the mortgage,
We were trying to sell houses,
We were trying to relocate,
We had everything literally going on and I had everything breaking down at the same time.
It was only when I just surrendered,
So I accepted that I couldn't control the outcome and in fact the power comes when we let go of trying to control the outcome,
Of trying to push something through that we think,
You know,
We think that we know better when actually when we're talking about universal energies and if we get into our own flow,
The universe will present us things,
Opportunities,
Things will materialise when we're not pushing against stuff that unfolds,
Trying to force things to happen that don't want to happen.
I've often related it to people in sales,
You know,
Because I mean I come from a recruitment background and it was something I recognised years and years and years ago.
You know if you're sort of trying to sell to companies that aren't listening,
Stop trying to sell to the ones that aren't listening.
There's always going to be somebody that wants to buy,
There's always going to be somebody or something happening and invariably as long as you're putting that energy in and that effort in,
Stuff will come as a result later anyway because it's that energetic,
You know,
You're working within the quantum,
You're working with the energy,
You're letting go of expectation of outcome,
You're doing what you're passionate about doing,
You're channelling your energy in the right order but,
You know,
You're very much accepting of where you are and what you're doing and what's happening around you and as I said last year I literally,
I had to accept that I couldn't,
There was nothing I could do,
Just like every,
Every sort of potential exit point was not only bricked up,
Cemented in,
It was just like nailed up and the lot and it wasn't until I literally let go that things started to really fall into place.
Even coming down to the house,
When we eventually bought the house that we are in at the moment,
I'll give you another example of acceptance whereby I accepted it and I let go and then the magic kind of happened because when I met my partner,
We only met four years ago and he'd been back at his folks due to a breakdown of a relationship with his ex-wife who was a narcissist and anyway,
He was in the process of buying a house and I,
As we got to know each other and we started to come to this area,
We wanted to move here so ultimately we ended up living together far quicker than we ever would have done because of all the lockdown regulations and rules and regs in the UK at the time that meant that we couldn't have seen each other during lockdown because he was in one county and I was in another county so he moved in.
Ultimately,
He didn't get the keys to the house he was told he would get when he would get them and we'd been together six months before he got the keys to his house by which time it became an expensive wardrobe.
So fast forward a year,
We decided we wanted to relocate but we'd got his house,
My house,
The interest rates had shot up in the UK.
My recruitment business was going down like this and we were going,
Oh my god and I've got,
I'm an accidental landlord,
I've got a house in South Wales that was renting out,
I thought I'll try and sell that.
We had three houses we were trying to sell.
I mean,
I sound like I'm moaning,
I'm not,
But we literally,
Our outgoings were higher than our incomings.
It's not a good position to be in and I had to sell my car to pay the mortgage.
Thank you,
Tina,
Thank you.
But you know,
Sometimes these things all happen and they happen for a reason but when all this was happening last year,
It was really challenging my spiritual belief that everything is working out wonderfully because I was thinking,
How is this wonderfully?
How is all of this wonderful?
Because it was literally,
Everything was breaking down around me.
It was just,
Holy moly.
So we were trying to sell his house so we've got more money coming in to pay my mortgage.
I was trying to sell the house in South Wales so that I could pay my mortgage.
I'd got the business going down so I needed to get some money out of a property to put it into my business.
In the end,
I had to take money out of my pension pot to pay back into the business.
Not great.
Gareth's house eventually sold and then the people that were buying my house had had issues with buyers along the way and the people that we were buying off had been really,
Really patient.
Anyway,
My buyer had another problem with the buyer who'd pulled out and the people we were buying off said,
Look,
You know,
We can't wait for you anymore.
We need to make sure that the house is rented out over Christmas because over the winter period,
I should say,
Because they didn't want to leave it empty because it had been their holiday home effectively.
And I went,
Yeah,
Okay.
I totally,
Totally get it.
I totally get it.
You know,
Wasn't ideal for us,
But I just let go.
I just said,
Totally accept it.
Spoke to my estate agent.
We put my house back on the market to try and get a new buyer because we couldn't then wait for my buyer to get a buyer.
And do you know what?
Within,
So that was on the Friday,
The following Tuesday,
I think it was,
I think it was,
It was less than five days,
Less than five days.
I get a call from my estate agent saying,
Sarah,
I've got some good news for you.
Oh,
That's great.
You're going to have some viewers for the house.
Hurrah.
You know,
I thought,
Oh my gosh,
I'm going to have to start emptying boxes and making the house look presentable.
We'd packed up loads of boxes.
We'd got loads of the house sort of ready to,
To move.
Yeah.
But she then,
It wasn't viewers.
My buyer had got another buyer and that buyer wanted to move quickly.
And then suddenly everything fell into place.
We were moved,
I think within eight weeks.
We'd had up until that point,
I think it'd be about 18 months,
18 months of shit.
So like Gareth's house was having issues with all these different buyers and one thing or another.
What I'm trying to say is all the time we'd been trying to push this,
We'd been trying to push it,
Push it,
Push it,
And trying to sort of control this outcome,
Getting really frustrated with the conveyancing process and solicitors and legalities and what have you.
You know,
We were fighting the corner because there were certain things we weren't accepting,
But it wasn't until we just,
Just said,
Okay,
Give up,
Give up,
Surrender and threw it over to like your higher power,
If you like,
To trust the process,
To go with the flow,
That suddenly it fell into place.
And because my buyer wanted to work,
Get through really quickly,
We were able to then go back to the people we were buying off,
The estate agent,
The real estate agent and say,
We're all good to go again.
And yeah,
It just went like magic.
And so we've been here,
It will be eight months next month and it's just the best thing ever.
We've made so many new friends.
We've had so many people visit.
So all of that that went on last year,
I now accept,
We're coming back to acceptance,
Accept that all that had to,
That had to happen.
It had to happen.
It had to break down.
It had to move,
Move as it did to be able to move forward.
And as it is now,
I'm waiting for my business to be finally stitched up,
But I spoke to them last week and waiting for the administration process to come to an end.
So I can just draw a line underneath that,
But I'm just leaving that to them to crack on with.
And yeah,
Then we can,
We're sort of really moving forward.
Thank you,
Ellen.
And thank you,
Charlie.
Yeah,
It is,
It's,
You know,
If we just let go,
If we have that intention,
We know what we wanted to do.
Gareth and I know,
Knew we wanted to move to the coast.
We knew we wanted to make that our reality.
We knew and passionately knew we would make it our reality,
But it was just how and when and what would happen.
And in the meantime,
You know,
We had to go through all of this.
And honestly,
It was,
I just wouldn't want anybody to go through what I went through last year.
Although that said,
The growth that comes from it,
The resilience you build up.
And now when I look back,
I understand why it had to happen.
Because if I hadn't had all of that going on,
If I hadn't dealt with it,
Sorted it,
I mean,
From discovering my son was a narcissist and going through loads of healing on that process,
Selling my car,
Having to clear out all the,
Just all of these things going on,
I wouldn't be in the position I am in now,
Free of all the stuff that if I'd have brought with me would have been dragging me along.
Do you see what I'm saying?
So it's accepting that that had to be the case.
It has been the case and we are now moving forward.
You know,
Financially,
I would like to be in a better position.
I mean,
My,
I was going to use the word income,
But we won't,
We won't really go there with that because I used to run a recruitment agency and I used to pay myself quite a nice salary,
Thank you very much.
So I'm,
Although I qualified as a coach 12 years ago and I've done bits of coaching along the way and I've written my book,
I've had my podcast,
I've created a digital course and I do speaking.
With all of that's happened over the last 18 months,
A lot of it's had to sort of take a little bit of a back step whilst I've been processing and dealing with and moving and one thing,
Another.
But the best thing is being discovering InsightTimer because for me,
It's just been brilliant,
You know,
Being able to connect with all of you globally and I've connected with so many people who are InsightTimer teachers as well.
And it's just such a fabulous,
Fabulous platform.
Off the back of last week,
Ellen did my chart,
Didn't you,
Ellen?
Because on the human design scale,
I'm a manifestor generator and that was really interesting.
So yeah,
Ellen sent me an email with my profile and a bit of a breakdown and I think she nailed me in one sentence.
I do tend to be someone that likes to do a lot of stuff.
Anyway,
Let me pass it over to all of you.
What situations are you in at the moment?
Is there anything that you need to accept?
Is there anything that you want to have a different perspective on?
Is there anything you want to change?
What do you want to manifest?
Let me know in the chat because I love answering questions.
I love looking at things from a different perspective and I love helping you instantly.
I like being live.
I like that whole instant thought process that I have to go into so that I can answer things and help you come up with solutions.
You want to manifest a bigger team within Tropic.
Awesome,
Charlie.
That is amazing.
So how many have you got at the moment?
How many do you want and when do you want to manifest them by and where do they hang out?
Where are the kind of people that you want to get into your team?
Who are the best people in your team?
Can you replicate that person?
What do they look like?
What is their profile?
What is their avatar?
What are their key attributes and where would more of them hang out?
Five at the moment.
You want five more before.
.
.
Oh,
You can do five more before February.
Cool.
What are the attributes of your best Tropic representative?
Because I know Tropic is.
.
.
Who knows Tropic?
Because Tropic is a fabulous.
.
.
Well,
Skincare,
Isn't it,
Charlie?
That's the best way of describing it.
A skincare product that it's all natural products.
And I really like it.
I haven't used a massive amount of it,
But the products that I have used,
I really like.
And there's a green healing thing that is really,
Really nice,
But it's all natural.
Positive mindset,
Well-being,
People within.
Excellent.
Yeah,
So it's hunting them down.
Where are they?
Where do they hang out?
Where's going some networking?
Tamanu Balm.
Yeah,
It's lovely.
It smells a bit like curry paste,
Mind,
But it's great.
It's really good for nap bites and mosquito bites and things like that.
But yes,
Charlie,
So consider that you've already got those 10 people in your team.
What does that team look like?
Actually,
Act as if you've got those 10 people in there.
Do more networking.
Brilliant.
I want to do,
And I will be doing,
And I am setting up because Gareth and I are going to,
We're going to set up a Saga brand and we're going to do networking.
So I will let you know when we have got,
We have arranged our first networking,
Which I'd love to invite you all to,
But it would be obviously at the moment for people on the beach locally.
However,
There's a lot of things that I am really interested in creating and cultivating because up until beginning of this year,
I used to host an online networking business.
And I just love that because you can communicate with people globally when you're doing stuff online as we are today.
So Charlie,
Yeah,
We'll do it.
I think it's really interesting.
I love meeting people.
I like getting to know people.
I'm always being curious,
Which is why I was in recruitment for so many years and I literally helped thousands and thousands of people.
Can you imagine back in the day when I first started in recruitment in 1987,
There was no computers,
No mobile phones.
You were very,
Very lucky if somebody had an answering machine at home,
You'd go,
Woohoo.
Otherwise,
If you wanted to get a hold of somebody,
And for those of you in the States,
It used to work for Kelly Services at one point.
That was in 1992.
Yeah.
So you'd ring up somebody and go,
Can I speak to Ellen,
Please?
Oh,
Bless you,
Ellen.
Thank you for joining me.
Well,
I am recording it,
As I've said,
And it will be edited and it will be uploaded.
So I'm waiting for last week's to be approved,
But the one before is,
And then this one will be edited beginning of next week because I'm going to see my dad tomorrow.
He's 90.
My lovely dad is 90 years old tomorrow.
So we're driving back to Nottingham this evening so I can go and see him and say happy birthday.
Acceptance,
Acceptance,
Acceptance.
What are you accepting in your life?
Thank you,
Charlie.
What are you accepting in your life right now?
I'm accepting where I am because where we are right in the present moment is where we need to be.
At any one time,
Being in the present moment is paramount.
We can't live in the past.
We can't live in the future because we've only ever got the current moment.
So it's about accepting where we are,
It being good enough for now.
Even if we want to bring about changes like Charlie does and wants to get five more people into her business team,
Then look about what it is you want to achieve and start to make steps to bringing those people in because they could be anywhere,
Charlie.
They could be anywhere.
I know people who work in network marketing business and they've got teams all over the world.
So yeah,
You know,
It's about living in the moment,
Accepting where you are and what you can and you can't change.
So some stuff you can change,
Some stuff you can't.
I mean,
Charlie's obviously passionate about the product and she wants to expand the team.
It's understanding what you then need to do to expand that team or whatever it is that you want to do.
Wherever you are right now,
Wherever it is that you want to go,
It's having that intention because when you know where you're going,
You will then recognise the opportunities that come your way.
I'm going to use Charlie as an example again because she's kindly sort of popped some chat in.
When you know that you want to increase your team by five members in a network marketing business,
Well then that is on your mind.
You can then have conversations with people.
And let me say this to start with though,
It is about being curious.
It's about meeting people.
It's about drawing in to them and asking them about themselves and then weaving in what it is that you do.
Because I think I mentioned it on the live last week that one of my lovely coach friends had been socialising,
Networking with a guy who purportedly have this big,
Big income,
But she'd met him like two or three times socially as a part of a networking,
If you know what I mean.
And they would be talking and all he did was talk at her.
He didn't enquire into her business or anything that she did whatsoever.
And it's got to be two way.
I see communication as a dance.
You've got this ebb and flow.
You need to be sort of pushing and pulling and being interested,
Genuinely interested,
And then genuinely passionate about what it is that you do.
And this is why I wrote my book,
Shining a Light on You,
How to Manifest Your Dream Job,
Which is why I've done an abridged audio version on Insight Timer of my digital course.
Because when you connect your talents and your passions with your career,
You can really live your life on purpose and fulfil your potential.
If you are out of alignment career-wise or out of alignment life-wise,
Everything's going to be sort of out of kilter.
You're not going to be in flow and then you invariably have and can manifest ailments and issues and problems.
Whereas when you connect with all of that,
When you are passionate about what it is,
When you are living in the moment,
When you are accepting of where you are and the stuff that's coming along that you can learn from and letting go of the stuff that doesn't,
Things evolve,
Things materialise and opportunities present themselves to you.
My talk that I delivered last week at Norwich City Football Club came about because I'm active over on LinkedIn as well.
However,
They found me because of my activity on there and I hadn't ever spoken to anybody from there before.
And it's a bit like manifesting jobs and opportunities and things like that.
Know what you want to achieve.
Communicate that,
Say with Charlie,
You want to connect with and take on board another five consultants.
Brilliant.
And then attract them in,
Know that they're coming.
Just recognise them when they come over your path.
Come see swimming,
You never know,
There might be some people down there.
I've met a lady I was chatting to,
She's moved up from London 18 months ago.
They're refurbing a house that they've bought just at the back of the Mariners,
Charlie,
And it's a seventies one.
But she said that she's frustrated that she's not really meeting and seeing people.
Well,
Let's get out networking and networking and creating all of that.
So when things aren't there,
You can accept that things don't,
Perhaps there aren't things happening.
And if that's the case,
There's an opportunity to create,
Isn't it?
Anyway,
Lovely,
Lovely,
Lovely people.
I realise I've been rabbiting into your ears now for over half an hour.
Yet again,
How quickly the time goes.
I'm going to love you and leave you and going to go and get ready to go and drive off to see my parents.
Oh,
You're welcome,
Charlie.
See you soon.
Please do head over and follow me over obviously on the main Insight Timer platform.
Do check out my courses,

Then you'll get notified when this goes live as with all the other lives.
Thank you so much for joining me.
I really do appreciate your time,
The time that you've taken out to come and spend that in my company,
Because that means a huge amount to me too.
So going to love you and leave you.
Namaste.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
And you are very welcome.
You are very welcome.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you,
Everyone.
Bye-bye.
And acceptance,
Move forward and live and love your life.
Positive vibes coming from me to you.
Bye,
Everyone.
