Good morning.
So this short practice together will hopefully set you up right for your day with feelings of gratitude and a positive outlook.
And if you do this often,
Hopefully each day,
You will really start to develop a heartfelt sense of appreciation both for yourself and for your life.
So as I've been talking,
Maybe you've already found yourself somewhere comfortable to be.
If not,
Feel free to do so now.
You can gently close your eyes,
Taking a full breath in and letting out a slow release.
Arriving in your body in the present moment.
Letting yourself breathe naturally.
Noticing how when you breathe in,
There's a sense of gathering.
And as you breathe out,
There's a sense of letting go,
Releasing.
Allowing the shoulders to drop down.
The jaw soften.
Allowing any holding or tension in the body to gradually melt away.
And as you relax there,
You could bring your mind to something that you're grateful for.
It could be a person,
A moment,
An animal,
A place,
Or even just something simple like the sunlight on your skin or the comfort of your home.
Or just simply being grateful for being alive and making it through the day.
And as you think of this thing,
Hold that feeling or that image in your heart.
Let the feeling of gratitude grow and expand with each breath.
If you feel drawn to,
You could even say to yourself,
Thank you.
I am grateful.
Let the feelings of gratitude expand out through your body and beyond you.
Really opening your heart and freeing feelings of gratitude and appreciation.
Now extending that gratitude outward a bit.
Think of someone who has helped you either in the present or in the past.
Hold him in your heart.
Feel the warmth of it fill your heart.
And quietly say,
Thank you.
I am grateful for you.
Take one more deep nourishing breath in and a releasing breath out.
And when you're ready,
Gently bringing your awareness to the space of your body.
Slowly beginning to wiggle your fingers and toes.
And opening your eyes.
Ready for the day and hopefully carrying these warm feelings of gratitude with you.
