Hi darling,
I'm so glad you've landed here with me today.
If you're feeling anxious,
Overwhelmed,
Or like your mind just won't slow down,
You're not alone.
And right now,
You don't have to fix it.
Just pause here.
There's nothing you need to figure out,
You just have to be here for a moment.
Like a butterfly landing softly,
Allow yourself to rest in the stillness and gently let a little sunshine in.
Go ahead and find a comfortable position,
Sitting or lying down,
And when you're ready,
Gently flutter your eyes closed or soften your gaze.
Take a slow breath in through the nose,
And exhale out through your mouth,
Let's do it again.
Inhale nice and slow,
And exhale just a little longer.
Now we're going to bring in a simple technique called the butterfly hug.
The butterfly hug is a gentle,
Self-soothing practice that helps calm the nervous system.
You'll cross your arms over your chest,
Like you're giving yourself a hug,
And softly tap left,
Right,
Left,
Right.
In simple terms,
Darling,
It's a way to hold yourself while your body learns how to soften.
So I invite you now to cross your arms over your chest like you're giving yourself a hug.
You can interlock your thumbs like a butterfly,
Let your hands rest on your upper arms or your shoulders or whatever feels best for you,
And we'll begin to gently tap right,
Left,
Right.
This can be done at your own pace.
There's no right or wrong way to do this,
Just whatever feels good to your body.
Let your tapping be slow like a butterfly at rest,
Steady,
Gentle.
Keep tapping right,
Left.
Begin to notice your breath.
No need to change it,
Just notice.
You're allowed to slow down.
You're allowed to pause.
You're allowed to not have it all together right now.
If your mind starts to wander,
That's okay,
Darling.
Just gently come back to the rhythm of your hands.
Now I want you to imagine a place that feels safe or calm.
Maybe you're in a field surrounded by soft florals with butterflies drifting gently around you.
Feel the warmth of the sun touching your skin.
Let it sink in,
Bringing calm.
Softly,
In your mind or out loud,
Repeat after me.
I am safe enough right now.
I can slow down.
I don't have to carry everything at once.
Keep tapping right.
Let your nervous system begin to settle.
Let your body come back to you.
There's nothing you need to do,
Nothing you need to solve.
Just this moment,
Just this breath,
Just this gentle rhythm.
Take a deeper breath in and a slow exhale out.
Butterflies know the beauty of change.
Feel the shift you created.
When you're ready,
You can slowly stop tapping.
Let your hands rest,
Maybe placing them over your heart.
Just notice how you feel without judgment.
Darling,
Even giving yourself this moment,
This pause,
This breath,
It matters.
Whenever you feel overwhelmed,
You can come back to this.
And I'll meet you here every time.
