Welcome.
You are here today because something within you is ready to shift,
Ready to lean into the discomfort,
The fear and the uncertainty,
Not to be consumed by it but to see what lies beneath it.
There's an ancient saying where there are dragons there is also treasure.
The dragons are the fears we avoid,
The challenges we resist,
The parts of ourselves we'd rather not face.
But if we dare to approach them with openness we discover they are guarding something valuable.
Wisdom,
Strength and growth.
Today we will explore how to soften into these difficult places to meet our inner dragons,
Not with fear but with curiosity and in doing so we will uncover the treasure hidden within.
Let's begin.
Find a comfortable position,
Let your body settle naturally,
Close your eyes and take a slow deep breath in,
Hold it gently for a moment and exhale slowly letting your body soften,
Again inhale deeply,
Hold gently for a moment and exhale,
Release any tension in your shoulders,
Your jaw,
Your hands,
Let yourself arrive fully here,
There's nowhere else to be now,
Nothing to do,
Only this moment.
Now imagine yourself standing at the edge of a vast ancient landscape,
The sky is wide open and painted with soft hues of dusk,
You feel the cool air brushing your skin and steady ground beneath your feet,
In a distance you see towering mountains their peaks lost in mist,
But your eyes are drawn to a dark cave at the base of one of these mountains,
There is something about this cave mysterious,
Powerful,
You know that inside can only live a dragon,
This dragon is not here to harm you,
It represents a challenge in your life,
A fear,
A wound,
An obstacle that you've been avoiding,
Notice what rises in you as you stand here,
Do you feel hesitation,
Resistance,
Whatever you feel is welcome,
Be present and breathe into it,
Now take a slow steady step forward toward the cave,
Feel the ground beneath you solid and steady,
With each step you feel a little stronger,
A little braver,
As you approach the cave you feel the cool air drifting in from its entrance,
The shadows flicker along the walls,
You step inside,
The darkness surrounds you,
But you feel safe,
You hear the slow rhythmic sound of breathing deeper within,
And then from the shadows the dragon begins to emerge,
See it clearly now,
What does it look like,
How large is it,
What are the colour of its scales,
Now look into its eyes,
This dragon is the embodiment of the challenge you are facing,
Notice how it feels to stand in its presence,
Now instead of running or fighting,
Take a deep breath and speak softly in your heart,
I see you,
I am ready to understand you,
The dragon watches you,
Maybe it roars,
Maybe it softens,
Whatever it does stay present,
Ask the dragon now,
What are you guarding,
Then listen,
Perhaps it responds with words,
Perhaps it shows you an image,
A memory or a feeling,
What treasure lies beneath this fear,
What strength is waiting for you to claim,
Just breathe in to whatever arises for you,
We will pause here so you can listen,
Now imagine yourself stepping closer to the dragon,
Place your hand gently on its massive chest,
Feel the steady beat of its heart beneath scales,
Notice how this fear is not separate from you,
It is part of you,
Part of your own strength,
Distorted by resistance,
Silently say,
I am ready to transform,
I will turn this fear into power,
As you speak these words,
Feel the dragon begin to dissolve into light,
Its energy doesn't disappear,
It flows into you,
Filling your chest,
Your arms,
Your heart,
Your whole body,
The weight of fear lifts,
Replaced by a steady grounded strength,
Breathe it in now,
Let it settle deep within you,
Now before you where the dragon once stood,
Lies its treasure,
Perhaps it's a golden object,
A glowing light or maybe a symbol,
Pick it up now,
Feel its weight,
Feel its energy in your hands,
This is a gift hidden within your challenge,
The wisdom,
The resilience,
The power you've earned by facing it,
Hold it close,
It belongs to you now,
Slowly begin to walk back toward the cave entrance,
Step by step,
Feeling lighter,
Stronger,
You step out into the cool air,
Back into the open landscape,
The sky is clearer now,
The path ahead feels different,
More open,
More possible,
Take a deep full breath in,
And exhale slowly,
Begin to feel the weight of your body resting where you are,
The rhythm of your breath,
The sounds around you,
Gently wiggle your fingers and your toes,
And when you're ready,
Gently open your eyes,
You have faced the dragon and you have discovered the treasure it was guarding,
Remember every challenge holds something sacred,
Every fear is an invitation to grow,
There is no need to run or fight,
Only to meet it with presence and curiosity,
You are stronger,
Wiser and braver than you realize,
Thank you for taking this journey with me,
Carry this strength forward today and throughout your life,
And know that whatever dragons appear on your path,
Treasure is never far behind,
Namaste.
