Good morning,
It's Mario here,
Thank you for joining me.
Every morning is a fresh beginning,
A renewal of life itself.
And yet how often do we wake up carrying the burdens of yesterday?
Before we rush into the day,
With its habits,
Anxieties and responsibilities,
Let us pause.
Let us awaken,
Not just physically,
But inwardly.
I'd like to ask you to sit quietly,
With your eyes closed,
Whether in your bed,
A chair,
On the floor,
Or by a window where the morning light enters.
If you need to pause this meditation in order to do so,
Feel free.
Now feel the body,
Its stillness,
Its breath.
Do not control it.
There's no need to control what can take care of itself.
Just simply observe it.
See if you can notice the space in this world that your body occupies.
You belong here.
Feel it.
Now take a brief moment to listen.
There's a stillness in the early hours.
The world has not yet imposed its demands upon you.
Can you listen to this quietness and whatever may be within it?
Perhaps the sound of birds outside,
The movement of trees,
Electrical noises in your home,
Even the hum of your neighborhood.
Just listen,
Without naming,
Without translating these sounds into words.
Now bring your attention to your breath.
It's natural,
Effortless.
And with each inhalation,
There is renewal.
With each exhalation,
There is letting go.
Can you observe the movement of breath?
As though watching a river flow by,
Without interference.
The mind,
Perhaps,
Is already moving with its plans,
Worries,
Ambitions.
But instead of suppressing thought,
We often do.
Watch it.
Be curious about it.
See how one thought leads to another.
How the mind is so good at creating its own sense of restlessness.
Do not judge your thoughts.
Just observe them.
Now I'd like you to ask yourself,
Whether inwardly or out loud,
Can I meet this day with freshness,
Without the burden of yesterday?
Can I meet this day with freshness,
Without the burden of yesterday?
Feel the energy of simply being here,
As you are.
Fully awake,
And before thought shapes the day.
There is clarity in this moment.
A sense of being alive,
Without effort.
Just remember,
You do not need to control what naturally takes care of itself.
This rings true for most things in life.
Yet we insist upon control,
In order to feel secure.
Remain in this awareness for just a little while longer.
And when you are ready,
Gently open your eyes.
Move into the day.
Not with a mind already clouded by the past.
But with the simplicity of presence.
Will you carry this presence with you,
As you go about the rest of your day?
Thank you for listening.
And until next time,
Stay present.
