Hi,
I'm Leigh Bodkin,
Meditation guide and somatic coach.
In my work as a somatic coach,
I use a simple framework to help people navigate change.
With greater awareness and clarity.
It helps us to recognize.
When our thoughts,
Not our circumstances,
Are shaping our experience and our emotions.
The method is not about fixing or blaming ourselves.
Or forcing positivity.
It's about awareness.
Compassion.
And learning to respond rather than react.
Most of us assume that our feelings are caused directly by what's happening around us.
But there's an important step in between.
That we often miss.
Something happens.
A thought appears.
The body responds.
And we take action.
Here's an example.
You send someone a text.
And you don't hear back.
The circumstance is neutral.
There's no response.
But then.
.
.
A thought appears.
I must have done something wrong.
Almost instantly.
The body reacts.
There might be a tightness in the chest or a flutter of anxiety.
Overthinking.
You start rereading the message or pulling back emotionally.
The distress feels real.
That it's being created more by the thought.
Than by the silence itself.
When we pause,
We create space to recognize.
I'm believing a stressful thought right now.
Something begins to shift.
The nervous system settles.
The breath deepens.
And from that steadier place.
New choices become available.
We might wait calmly.
Maybe reach out again.
Or simply let the moment pass.
That's the heart of this framework for change.
Moving from automatic reaction to awareness,
Clarity.
And choice.
Thanks for showing up today.
And be well.
