Welcome,
I'm Leigh Bodkin and my hope is that this meditation will help you reconnect with your inner wisdom.
It's a quiet intelligence that lives in the body and is available to all of us.
Stress,
Busyness,
And over-reliance on the thinking mind can cloud our access to it over time.
This practice offers a gentle doorway back to that inner voice.
So settle into your body wherever you are,
Whether you're sitting on a cushion,
A chair,
Lying down on a bed.
And just allow yourself to arrive just as you are in this moment.
Take a slow breath in and a long,
Easy exhale out.
Again,
Breathing in and breathing out.
Now start to notice the points of contact beneath you where your body meets the chair,
The floor,
Or the bed.
And sense the earth below you,
Steady and supportive,
Always there,
Holding you without effort.
Notice the air on your skin.
And just let the next breath arrive naturally.
As you exhale,
Let your shoulders soften and drop,
Your jaw to loosen,
And let all of those tiny muscles around the eyes and the forehead just let them relax.
Now begin to notice your thoughts.
There's no need to engage with them or push them away here.
Just simply allow them to pass through like clouds drifting by.
Now as your body settles and the mind quiets,
Ask yourself,
What is ready to emerge next?
What is my inner wisdom trying to tell me in this moment?
Just let yourself sit with these questions.
There's no need to get a quick answer here.
It will come when the time is right.
It might feel supportive to place one hand over your heart center and let yourself breathe into the question,
What is my inner wisdom trying to tell me?
And just know that you are being held right now,
Nothing to figure out,
Nothing to force.
Stay open to whatever comes up.
It may be a sensation,
An image,
An emotion,
Or a word.
It might simply be a felt sense of knowing.
Just listen with curiosity and kindness.
Now let the breath flow here,
Resting in the body,
Resting in awareness.
And remember this simple practice,
Connecting to the body through breath and intention,
Will always guide you back to the inner wisdom that lives within you.
And take one more slow,
Nourishing breath here.
And when you're ready,
Gently begin to come back,
Bringing with you a sense of connection into the rest of your day.
Thank you for practicing with me today.
