A short postural reset to support spinal ease and nervous system balance. Posture influences how the nervous system interprets safety, effort, and stability. In my work monitoring the nervous system during brain and spine surgery, I’ve seen how small positional changes can create meaningful shifts throughout the body. This guided reset invites awareness to the spine, allowing natural alignment without force or correction. By organizing the body around ease rather than effort, the nervous system can settle. Small input, clear shift.

Hi,

I'm Jeremy.

In my work with the nervous system,

I've learned that posture is not about appearance.

It's about signaling.

The body constantly communicates with the brain about load and support.

Two percent,

Not as math,

As a reminder not to overdo it.

Choose a steady position.

Sit,

Stand,

Or lie down.

There's no correct posture.

Just make sure your body feels supported,

Not rigid,

Not collapsing,

Just sustainable for the next few minutes.

Now make one intentional decision with your hands.

Rest them comfortably.

Palms up if you'd like to save no grounding.

Neither is better.

Just choose.

Intentional signals matter to the nervous system.

Now bring your attention to your spine.

You don't need to straighten it dramatically.

Just notice it.

Is it working hard?

Is it slumping?

See if you can lengthen it slightly.

Not taller,

Just a little more organized.

Two percent,

That's enough.

Now soften your shoulders.

Is there room for them to drop?

Notice your head.

Is it pushing forward?

See if you can bring it back just a little.

Not stiff,

Just balanced.

When posture collapses,

The nervous system reads fatigue.

When posture braces,

The system reads effort.

We're looking for steady.

Now let your breath move naturally through your nose.

Don't change it.

Notice how your breath responds to posture.

Now gently press your feet into the floor if you're sitting or standing.

If lying down,

Feel the contact beneath you.

Support beneath.

Support below.

The nervous system responds to perceived stability.

Let the back of your neck soften.

Let the jaw remain easy.

Return to your hands.

Palms up,

Openness and receiving.

Palms down,

Grounding,

Safety.

Notice the difference.

Now scan from the base of your spine to the top of your head.

Not correcting,

Just observing,

Just witnessing.

If you notice extra effort somewhere,

See if there's room to soften.

Two percent.

Let the spine feel supported rather than held.

Stay here for a few breaths.

Steady.

Minimal effort.

Enough tone to stay upright.

Enough ease to stay calm.

That's the balance.

Now take one easy in-breath through your nose and let it go without trauma.
