Welcome to this meditation,
Finding your why.
One of the most powerful ways to build a lasting meditation practice is to connect with your why.
When you know why you're meditating,
It becomes easier to return to your practice,
Especially on the days when motivation feels low.
Your why becomes your anchor.
Your compass,
Your North Star.
Today we'll take a few minutes to connect with the deeper intention that you brought here.
Let's begin.
Find a comfortable position.
Sitting down on a chair,
On a cushion,
On a couch,
Or lying down,
If that's better for you.
And close your eyes if that feels safe or gently lower your eyes to an object nearby.
And allow your body to settle in.
Take a slow breath in.
And a gentle exhale out.
One more time,
Slowly breathing in.
And gently breathing out.
Allow your shoulders to soften.
Relax your jaw.
And notice the natural rhythm of your breath.
No need to change it.
Just notice it.
Now gently ask yourself,
Why am I interested in meditation?
There is no right answer.
Simply notice what arises for you.
Perhaps you long for more calm.
Perhaps you're seeking relief from stress or overwhelm.
Perhaps you want to feel more grounded.
Perhaps you want to be more present.
Or perhaps you want to feel more connected to yourself.
Whatever comes forward is enough.
Trust your inner wisdom on whatever shows up for you.
Now imagine your reason for meditating as a small flame in the center of your heart.
A quiet light guarding your path.
And silently repeat these words to yourself.
My intention matters.
My why supports my practice.
I trust myself to follow this path.
Take a moment to imagine yourself returning to meditation tomorrow.
And the next day.
And the day after that.
Guided by this deeper purpose.
Notice how it feels to practice from inspiration rather than obligation.
And for the next few breaths,
Rest quietly with your intention.
Allowing it to settle within you.
Take one final deep breath in.
And slowly exhale.
And as we come to a close,
Remember Your meditation practice doesn't need to be perfect.
It simply needs a purpose that feels meaningful to you.
Carry your why with you today.
And every day going forward.
And keep returning to your practice.
When you're ready,
Gently open your eyes or lift your gaze.
And thank yourself for showing up today.
Thanks for practicing.
Namaste.
