I know that in Blossom,
I talk a lot about self-compassion being a hardcore resilience skill and our pathway,
A pathway towards really blossoming and living more authentically and freely and at peace.
So my urging is around,
Let's be kind to ourselves.
But,
You know,
I've had a really interesting time these last couple of weeks with one to one clients that I'm working with.
And I've been realizing that,
You know,
Like many of the things we do that are simple,
They're not easy.
So be kind.
Well,
What does that mean,
D?
How can I do it?
So I've been noticing that for some women.
Being kind.
Means accepting that I need lots of rest and restore.
So my kindness to myself.
Is in a way,
Horizontal.
I need to actually let go.
Very hard for us can do women.
Sometimes,
Though.
Being kind means.
Remembering flow activities.
So what gives me joy?
What gives me energy?
So what feeds me?
And then in a way.
Mm.
Helping myself to remember those flow activities and then to do them.
That's been kind to me.
And I think most particularly what I've been rubbing up against over the past few weeks is sometimes being kind to me.
Sometimes the practice of self-compassion.
Actually asks me.
To take some imperfect action.
And maybe to be a bit uncomfortable.
Now,
That kind of kindness or self-compassion is really investing in future me.
It's being kind to future me.
So it might be an action that I don't want to do.
But I know that I feel better.
And not all of us are.
Are doing that kind of work.
But I think some of us are.
And I know when I recognize that work in myself.
I'm usually the best subject of resistance and what makes it challenging these simple things,
What's so challenging?
And I'll tell you what stops me being kind to myself at that deeper layer.
That taking imperfect action,
That stepping outside of my comfort zone,
That being kind to and investing in future me.
Do you know what my big roadblock is?
Well,
It's procrastination.
I do it later.
I do it tomorrow.
I do it when I have a few more Bob.
I do it when.
The kids are settled or when work is not so busy or when my partner is not so in need of support.
I do it later.
Procrastination.
And I recognize that in me.
And I recognize that it's actually fear.
You know,
My poor old brain keeping me safe,
Scanning the environment comes up with all these reasons why actually D maybe not now do it later.
You're OK.
It's not too bad.
It's fear,
And that's why I love the idea of us supporting each other.
To yes,
Rest and restore when that's what's kindness is for me or to reconnect with my flow activities when that's kindness to me.
And then sometimes to take that imperfect action when that's kindness to me.
So it's challenging.
And it's deep work.
But kindness to me isn't a bland nothingness.
So my invitation to each one of us this week is to really try and identify,
OK,
So what's kindness to me right now?
Do I need lots of rest and restore?
Do I need to reconnect with flow activities that nourish and feed and give me life?
In that mind,
Body,
Spirit,
Way or is kindness to me right now?
Recognizing the procrastination,
Acknowledging the flutter of fear and loving myself and investing in my future self and being kind enough to my future self to take some imperfect action.
So I invite a little reflection and journaling on that.
And as always,
If you're catching this later and you have a question or a stuckness,
Don't forget to come back to me.
