I'm sure.
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE What?
Amen.
Thank you.
Welcome to this prayer for forgiveness,
Compassion and belonging.
Ho'oponopono.
Is an ancient Hawaiian practice of reconciliation,
Forgiveness and restoring spiritual balance.
The word itself translates literally to,
To make right.
Or to put in order in the Hawaiian language.
The prayer I share with you here is very much inspired by this ancient wisdom of returning again and again to right relationships.
And I am indebted to this wisdom tradition.
In recent times,
I have been in deep need of reconciliation,
Forgiveness and right relationships.
And the words I share with you now,
Inspired by this long and living tradition.
Has been and is now my own daily prayer.
I pause for a moment.
Allowing myself to become still.
Aware of the breath moving through me.
The ground beneath my feet.
And the great web of life of which I am a part.
I bring into this quiet space.
All that I am.
All that I have been.
And all that I am still becoming.
Forgiveness of myself.
I am sorry.
For the times I have been harsh with myself.
For the demands I have placed upon my own heart.
For the ways I have forgotten that I too am worthy of kindness and care.
For the times I have ignored my own weariness.
Silenced my own wisdom.
Or believed that I must somehow be more than the human being I am.
Please forgive me.
May I learn to meet myself with the same tenderness I would offer to someone I dearly love.
May I acknowledge my mistakes without allowing them to define me.
May I grow in wisdom.
And find peace with the unfinished and imperfect nature of my life.
Thank you.
For this body that carries me.
For the heart that continues to love.
For all that life has taught me.
Even through its difficult seasons.
I love you.
May I learn to honor this one precious life.
To care for it with gentleness.
And to remember that I,
Too,
Belong within the circle of compassion.
Forgiveness in our relationships.
I bring to mind now.
Those with whom I share this life.
Those I love.
Those who have loved me.
Those I have heart,
And those through whom I have known heart.
I am sorry.
For the times I have failed to listen.
For the words spoken without care.
For the moments when fear impatience.
Or judgment have stood in the way of understanding.
Please forgive me.
May I have the humility to recognize my part.
The courage to make amends where I can.
And the wisdom to know that some things take time to heal.
And where I carry wounds of my own.
May I find the compassion to tend them gently.
I don't need to pretend that harm did not happen.
I need not return to what is unsafe.
I need only to remain open to the possibility.
That in time.
My heart may find greater freedom.
Thank you.
For those who have walked beside me.
For kindness received and given.
For the patient work of understanding,
And for the countless ways we help one another become more fully human.
I love you.
May love find expression in the way I speak and listen.
In the boundaries I honor.
In the kindness I offer.
And in my own willingness to begin again and again.
Forgiveness and our earth home.
Now I turn towards the earth.
My home.
The land beneath my feet.
The waters that sustain life.
The air that moves through every living being.
The trees.
Hedge grows.
The birds.
.
.
The creatures.
And the soil from which our food grows.
All that gives so generously.
Asking so little in return.
For the ways I have taken without noticing.
For the times I have forgotten that I am not separate from this living world.
And may that remembering find expression now in the choices I make,
However small.
Thank you.
For the morning light.
For the rain upon the fields.
For the generosity of trees.
For birdsong and the turning seasons.
For the patient wisdom of the natural world,
Which teaches us again and again about change.
About renewal.
And the great mystery of life.
I love you.
May my love for this earth be more than a feeling.
May it become a way of living.
A way of caring.
A way of giving back.
May I walk more gently upon this beautiful and wounded earth.
Remembering always.
That I am part of her life as she is part of mine.
Returning to the source.
To the sacred,
And so I return to the quiet of my own heart.
Aware that I am still learning.
Still growing.
Still finding my way.
I cannot undo all that has happened.
I cannot heal every wound.
I cannot carry the sorrows of this world alone.
But I can begin here.
With a little more awareness.
A little more compassion.
A little more willingness to love.
May forgiveness find its own time and season.
May compassion guide my relationship with myself.
With others and with the whole Earth community.
May the sacred find expression through me in the ordinary moments of this one precious life.
Shinoel.
Bye!
I'll see you.
You you
