For all the moments when you're feeling down about your body,
Here's a daily meditation to have gratitude,
Understanding,
And appreciation.
Taking one deep breath and complete release.
No matter how our body is feeling today no matter what is coming up for us today,
I take this moment to appreciate all that my body is and all that my body provides.
I take one deep breath and with gratitude for breathing,
I let it go.
I hold my hands over my heart and with gratitude for everything that my heart does for me,
I thank it.
I hold my hands over my throat and think of all the joy and love I've received and given through my voice.
I hold my hands over my nose and think of all the delightful and some not so delightful but interesting smells that I'll appreciate today.
And I hold my hands over my ears and think about all the sounds,
The variety of sounds that I'll be gifted with today.
And then I hold my hands together and think about all of the sensations of touch and joy and appreciation that I'll be feeling today.
And then I scan upwards just moving from my toes to my ankles to my shins and my calves noticing and appreciating this miraculous body that I have as my vehicle to enjoy this life.
My knees,
My hamstrings and my quads all the way up to my hips that are going to propel me forward together as a whole leg to all of the adventures that I can have today.
My stomach and my back,
My open front and my strong back that provide the stability and openness in order to enjoy these adventures.
My stomach that's going to digest whatever I happen to put in there to provide the fuel that keeps me running.
It's again my lungs and my heart It's again my lungs and my heart for my sacred breath and my heartbeat that remind me that I'm alive.
My arms that will facilitate all of the activities that I do today.
My neck that will allow my head to see and swivel and enjoy everything that comes into view.
My face that'll show all of the expressions for all of the emotions that I'll have today.
My eyes for creating the miracle that is sight,
That allows us to enjoy everything that we see all day.
And my brain that holds it all together to allow the miracle that is life.
I thank all of these things,
Regardless if they're struggling,
If they're providing anything to us today.
I simply want to have gratitude for what pieces of that I have.
