This Yoga Nidra Meditation helps us to ground and feel into our body as a way to release stored emotions in the energetic body and the psyche. We will build capacity to remain present with sensations as they rise and fall so that we may become ever more present in our daily lives with our selves and our loved ones. Techniques include breath, body awareness and sound to tap into deeper brainwave states. Sounds include trickling water and Tibetan singing bowls in the notes of C & G to help balance the left and right hemispheres of the brain.

Blessings,

Beautiful cosmic being of light.

In today's practice we will focus on grounding through physical sensations as a way to cultivate capacity to remain present in our body,

Mind and heart.

Physical sensations and symptoms are windows into the psyche,

The psyche being the totality of the human mind,

Both the conscious and the subconscious.

Physical symptoms reveal to us emotions that we may be storing in our energetic bodies.

Emotions themselves are simply energy in motion and when we utilize breath and body awareness techniques we can create space for those emotions to really rise and then release.

Let's go ahead and begin by finding a comfortable seated or lying down position of your choice.

Away from any distractions if possible and really taking as much support as you need with any blankets,

Bolsters or any other props.

If there are any distractions that arise either externally or internally,

Simply allow those distractions to draw you even deeper within.

Do your best to follow along with my guidance,

Resolving to remain awake and staying in touch with the sound of my voice.

Let's go ahead and begin to draw our attention inward.

Notice the quality of the breath.

Is it slow and steady,

Fast or shallow?

Notice how the body is showing up right now,

Scanning from the crown of the head down to the tips of the toes,

Noticing any areas of tightness or tension,

Any uncomfortability or maybe even any pain.

Try not to create a story around this,

Just allow yourself to feel fully.

Bring your awareness to the breath.

Feel the belly rising as you inhale,

Belly falling as you exhale.

With each exhalation,

Feel the body surrendering to gravity,

Fully supported by the earth beneath you.

Begin to deepen your breath now.

With each inhalation,

Feel an expansion through the belly,

Ribs and chest.

With each exhalation,

Empty the lungs even more.

And on your next exhalation,

Begin to create a slight contraction in the back of the throat,

As if you are fogging a mirror,

But with the mouth closed.

Inhaling through the nose,

Filling the lungs all the way to the top,

And exhaling with a slight contraction in the back of the throat for ocean breath.

Becoming absorbed in the sound and sensation of the exhaling breath,

Feel the breath like ocean waves ebbing and flowing,

Dissolving like a drop into an ocean of oneness.

Now gently release any effort with the breath,

And allow the breath to simply breathe itself.

Awareness naturally gravitating towards the third eye,

Brow center.

Continue to release any struggle,

Any effort to make anything happen.

Surrender fully here,

Remaining the neutral observer as sensations rise and fall.

Now we will bring our awareness to the physical body.

Feel the body resting here.

And as I guide you through different parts of the body,

Bring your awareness to that specific area,

Without comment,

Without judgment,

Allowing for the release of energy blockages,

The release of tension.

Bring all of your awareness to the crown of the head.

Third eye,

Brow center.

Tip of the nose.

Pit of the throat.

Middle of the chest.

Feel both arms,

Shoulders,

Elbows,

Both wrists,

All ten fingers.

Now bring all of your attention to the center of both palms.

Feel energy pulling in the center of both palms.

Bring your attention to the solar plexus,

Belly button,

Hips,

Center of the pelvis,

Both knees,

Both ankles,

All ten toes.

Now bring all of your awareness to the soles of the feet,

Heels,

Calves,

Hamstrings,

Glutes,

Sacrum,

That triangular bony structure at the base of the spine.

Feel the spine.

Shoulder blades.

Back of the neck.

Back of the head.

Now bring all of your attention back up to the crown of the head.

Feel the whole body in awareness.

Whole body resting in vast,

Spacious awareness.

Letting go.

As you drop down deeper and deeper into the stillness beneath the mind,

Give yourself permission to enter into the deepest levels of relaxation,

Tranquility,

And peace.

And the third eyebrow center.

Now imagine that you are walking barefoot on a magnificently colored pathway.

You come across a beautiful courtyard in which there is a fountain.

You see the beautiful cascading waters of this fountain reflecting the light of a thousand prisms,

Radiating colors of red and orange,

Yellow,

Green,

Blue,

Violet,

And crystal white.

You walk up to the fountain and you hold out your hands to feel the water.

And you feel its healing energy flowing into you,

Washing over you,

Infusing this healing energy into every cell of your body.

Allow this healing energy to travel to any areas of the body that need it most.

Feel your body returning to wholeness,

Revitalized and purified by this cleansing,

Healing water.

Trust that your body knows how to heal itself.

Recognize that every physical manifestation is a very important messenger in your life.

Gently begin to rise to the surface of awareness now.

Feel the body resting here.

Notice the quality of the breath.

Very slowly,

Very mindfully,

Beginning to move and stretch the body as you feel called.

Rub the palms of the hands together vigorously,

Creating some heat and friction as we activate the center of the palms.

Feel the warmth building.

And when you're ready,

Gently placing the hands just over the eyes as you take a full deep breath in through the nose.

And an audible exhale through the mouth.

Thank you so much for joining me for this practice today.
