So often we have desires,
Dreams and longings for love,
Abundance and fulfilment in our lives.
Yet when those things seem within reach,
Something within us hesitates.
It's as if there's a deep hidden part of us that doesn't quite believe we deserve what we want the most.
This belief can be so deeply rooted,
A self-protective pattern that formed a long time ago.
Today we are going to invite this part of ourselves out of the shadows.
We do this not to judge or criticise it,
But to understand it and to gently offer it the possibility of release.
Today we begin a journey of becoming truly open to receiving all the goodness the universe has waiting for us.
So let's begin.
Find a comfortable seated position.
Comfortably straighten your spine.
Close your eyes.
And allow your palms to fall gently into your lap.
Have your palms facing up so you are open to receive.
Let's begin by melting away any tensions with deep relaxation.
Notice your body from the crown of your head to the tips of your toes.
Consciously release any tightness in your jaw,
Your shoulders,
Your belly,
Down into your hips,
Your knees,
All the way down into your feet.
Imagine a golden light flowing through your body,
Soothing every cell.
Now bring to mind one thing you long to receive.
This could be a partner,
A new friendship,
A dream job,
A new home,
Or maybe a holiday where you relax fully or a massage,
Something just for you.
See this desired thing in your mind's eye.
See it as vividly as possible.
Imagine its colours,
Its shape,
Its texture.
Maybe it has a specific smell or a sound.
Notice any feelings it evokes within you.
Maybe you feel excitement,
Hope,
Or maybe even a slight pang of doubt.
As you hold the image of what you long for,
Become the observer.
Let yourself feel deeply into the desire to take this thing,
To make it fully yours.
And as you do this,
Notice any part of you that hesitates.
Does a tiny whisper that you're not worthy,
It's not right,
Or it won't really last come through?
Whereabouts in this body do you feel this resistance?
Go into that space.
And when you find where you are feeling the resistance,
Direct your breath towards that feeling.
You may be feeling it in your chest,
Your belly,
Your throat,
Wherever it is,
Breathe deeply into the sensation,
Simply observing it without judgement.
And as you take all your attention to this area,
See if any memory surfaces.
Maybe there was a time when you wanted something deeply and you were disappointed,
Hurt,
Or you felt you had to withdraw your desire.
It doesn't have to be a dramatic event,
Often these things are very,
Very subtle.
So if nothing comes up,
Know that that is perfectly okay,
But just see if you can notice anything there,
If there's any story to be told there.
Now gently ask this part of yourself holding this old pattern,
Are you willing to let this feeling go?
Is it safe now?
And just listen to hear if a response comes through.
You may hear words,
You might see an image,
Or you might just sense a feeling or sensation.
Now invoke your higher self,
The wisest and most loving part of you.
And ask your higher self,
Higher self,
Can you help me to release this old belief and any pain attached to it?
Breathe deeply into the space where you felt the resistance and trust and allow your higher self to say to yourself,
It is safe to receive,
I am worthy of love and abundance.
It is safe to receive,
I am worthy of love and abundance.
It is safe to receive,
I am worthy of love and abundance.
Keep repeating this as many times as you need,
Allowing your higher self to let go and take any of that resistance from you.
Now return to the image of what it is that you truly want and see,
Does that look any different now?
Does your desire look any different than what it did before?
Does it feel closer?
Does the resistance remain or has it lessened?
Just really investigate with gentle curiosity.
And if you still feel there is a part of you that is reluctant,
Repeat the process again,
Ask your higher self to come in and to release this resistance from you.
Acknowledge it,
Breathe into it,
Explore its origins and ask for help to let it go.
Be patient and be compassionate with yourself.
Imagine stepping towards what you desire and reaching for it.
You are now granted permission to take it fully.
Notice the joy in your heart,
The sensations in your body and feel a deep sense of gratitude welling up within you.
Thank yourself for taking this journey.
Acknowledge the power of this work.
Know that you can revisit this meditation whenever the old hesitation arises.
Each time you do,
You will reinforce your choice to let go and to become more fully open to receive.
Remember that love and abundance is your birthright and they are waiting for you with open arms.
