A gentle resourcing practice to ground yourself in the here and now. We’ll begin with orienting - slow looking - letting your gaze wander around the space you’re in, noticing what captures your attention, and allowing that to anchor you in presence. You’re welcome to explore in stillness or in gentle movement, and to be in whatever shape feels supportive today. There is no right or wrong way. My invitations will also guide your awareness into parts of your body you may allow to soften, and into sensing the relationship between your body and the support beneath you. Your mind may drift and wander - that’s completely natural. This practice is about returning, again and again, to I am here. Noticing what you can see and sense as reminders of this very moment, gently signaling safety to your body. There is no music or closing bell, though you may hear a few soft hellos from the birds in my garden towards the end. Thank you so much for choosing to practice together.

Hello and welcome.

This is a gentle resourcing practice.

An orienting practice.

It's a way to reconnect to being here and present.

Perhaps inviting our physical body to recognize that we are here.

We are safe.

There isn't anything to get right.

You can't get anything wrong in this practice.

All of my invitations are just that,

Invitations.

You can be in any shape that feels most useful and supportive.

If you are in a space of agitation and restlessness,

You could even invite in some movement.

Swaying through your body.

Rocking from sit bone to sit bone.

Or from one foot to the other.

As we begin,

Allowing your eyes to gaze around the room or the space that you are in.

What captures your attention?

Perhaps there is a color,

A texture.

Quality of the light.

Maybe something familiar in the room or the space.

What is it like to allow your gaze to slowly look around the room,

The space?

What details can you notice?

As you let your eyes rest on whatever it is that is calling you,

Drawing you in.

Let that be your invitation that you are here.

We are here together.

Right in this very moment.

You could choose to linger on this one thing for as long as feels useful and supportive.

Or you might slow look and let your gaze land on something else that is drawing you in.

And as you engage in this slow looking,

Orienting practice,

What is it like to allow your belly to be soft?

What might it be like to allow your shoulders to nestle,

Snuggle down your back?

Could you invite in a little softness through your fingers and your toes?

Perhaps you notice some tension,

Stickiness,

Holding or grasping through features of your face.

Maybe they could soften,

Release and let go just a fraction.

So as you invite in a softening through your physical body,

Where do your eyes want to linger?

Maybe on the same object or shape or color.

Maybe you have sprinkled your way into another space.

Inviting your eyes to travel down to the space that is beneath you.

Maybe float upwards towards the space that is above you.

Even the space that is behind you.

The possibility here of exploring how it feels,

What it's like to name what you can see.

You could also remind yourself,

I am here,

I am present.

I am here,

I am present.

I am here and I am present.

With my body.

Here with the nourishment and loyalty of my breath.

Finding a few moments here to acknowledge how it is that you feel.

The beautiful birds in my garden are saying hello.

Reminding me that we are here.

Present among the symphony of life.

All of the things that we can see.

That we have the opportunity to hear.

And as we begin to bring this orienting practice to a close.

Inviting you to observe the relationship between your body.

And the ground,

The surface,

The support that is underneath you.

As you move through the rest of your day.

Knowing that the ability to ground,

To find this embodied presence.

Is always within you.

Everything you need to feel a sense of grounded presence.

Is already within you.

Waiting to be discovered and uncovered.

To close if it feels okay,

The invitation to place your hands over your heart space.

Maybe one hand on your heart space,

The other on your belly.

Your eyes might float closed for a moment.

Finding a sense of gratitude for yourself.

For your choice to practice,

To nourish,

To resource yourself.

In this gentle and spacious way.

I feel grateful for the opportunity to share and hold this space together.

Wishing you more moments of feeling grounded and present in your body.

Take good,

Good care.

Such a soothing practice to ground. It's wonderful to have a recorded session that provides some of the resources that feature in your live offerings so we can revisit any time 💙 Thank you Benita
