Hello and welcome.
Please take a moment to settle into a position that feels comfortable for your body.
There is nowhere that you need to get to,
Nothing that you need to accomplish.
And nothing that you need to focus on perfectly.
Just be in this moment.
Allow yourself to notice the surface beneath you.
The support holding you.
The simple fact that for the next few minutes,
You can let the world wait.
Take a slow breath in.
And a gentle breath out.
Again,
Breathing in.
And breathing out.
As we begin,
I want to offer a different approach to gratitude.
One that isn't about forcing yourself to be positive.
One that's not about pretending everything is perfect.
It's not about making a list of things you should be appreciating.
Instead.
This is an opportunity to notice what feels genuinely meaningful to you.
To allow yourself to receive it.
And to let your mind and body experience it for a few moments.
So bring to mind something that you feel grateful for today.
It doesn't need to be big.
Maybe it's a person,
A pet,
A place.
A memory that you have.
It might be a moment of laughter that you've shared with someone.
A text message that you received.
A comfortable bed.
Perfect cup of coffee.
Or my personal favorite,
A diet soda.
Whatever comes naturally is enough.
And if nothing comes immediately,
That's okay too.
Simply stay curious.
When something appears.
See if you can picture it.
Not just the idea of it.
But the actual experience.
If it's a person.
Imagine their face.
Or smile.
The sound of their voice.
If it's a place,
Notice the colors,
Textures,
Sounds,
And details.
If it's a moment.
Allow yourself to replay it gently.
As though you're watching it unfold again.
Notice what you see.
What you hear.
Notice what you remember,
The feeling.
For a moment.
Let yourself be there.
And as you visualize this experience.
Notice whether any feelings begin to emerge.
Warmth,
Comfort,
Connection.
Maybe you notice joy,
Safety,
Appreciation,
Or perhaps something else entirely.
There is no right answer.
Just notice.
If your mind wanders.
As minds tend to do.
Gently guide yourself back.
Not because you've done anything wrong.
But because this moment is worth returning to.
Take another slow breath.
And imagine this gratitude becoming even more vivid.
A little more colorful.
A little more alive.
Allow yourself to soak in the experience.
As though your mind is taking a photograph.
As though your heart is collecting evidence that meaningful things exist in your life.
Not because life is perfect.
But because beautiful moments exist alongside the difficult ones.
Now see if you can bring another experience to mind.
Something or someone else you appreciate.
Again,
Picture it.
See the details.
Notice the expressions.
The sounds,
The atmosphere.
Allow yourself to experience it rather than simply think about it.
And as you do.
Notice what happens in your body.
Perhaps your shoulders soften.
Perhaps your jaw releases.
Perhaps your breathing becomes a little easier.
Or you simply notice a small shift.
Whatever is here is welcome.
As you continue breathing.
Consider this.
Sometimes gratitude isn't just about what we have.
Is about recognizing the ways we affect one another.
The encouragement we receive.
The kindness that binds us.
The moments when someone reminds us that we matter.
I know that one of the unexpected gifts in my own life has been receiving the support,
Encouragement,
And kind words from this community.
And every time I read your feedback,
I'm reminded how much our words can impact one another.
How very much it means to feel seen.
How very much it means.
To know that we're not alone.
So for just a moment.
Imagine all the people who have encouraged you in some way.
The people who believe in you.
People who have offered you kindness.
The people who might have helped you carry something difficult.
See if you can let yourself receive that support.
Not analyze it.
Not minimize it.
Simply receive it.
Take a slow breath in.
And a slow breath out.
Notice what it feels like to be connected to gratitude.
To appreciation.
To the people,
Experiences,
And moments that have touched your life.
Before we finish.
Choose one image from today's practice.
One memory,
One person,
One moment.
One thing.
That feels meaningful.
Picture it clearly.
And imagine carrying that image with you into the rest of your day.
A reminder that even on difficult days,
Meaningful moments still exist.
That support still exists.
Connection still exists.
Take one final deep breath in.
And slowly exhale.
Wiggle your fingers and toes if that feels good.
And when you're ready.
Gently return to the room around you.
Thank you for sharing this moment with me.
I appreciate all of you so very much.
And may you continue to notice the people,
Experiences,
And small moments.
That remind you that you are supported,
Connected.
And deeply human.
Take care,
My friend.
