Why do ADHD, autism, OCD, and other forms of neurodivergence so often overlap with addiction? In this video, we'll explore the connection through a compassionate, nervous system-informed lens. Rather than asking, "What's wrong with me?" we'll ask a different question: "What problem was my brain or nervous system trying to solve?" You'll learn how neurodivergent brains often seek relief from overwhelm, under-stimulation, anxiety, masking, and emotional exhaustion, and why addictive behaviors can become powerful coping strategies. We'll also explore one simple practice to help you respond to urges with greater curiosity and self-compassion. This video is for educational purposes only and is not a substitute for therapy or medical care. Please note: This track discusses addiction, so please listen with care.
