Quieting the busy mind,
This is your guided reset for overthinking.
Take a moment to settle into a comfortable position.
You don't need to sit perfectly.
Just allow your body to be supported and if it feels okay,
Gently close your eyes or soften your gaze.
Just notice that your mind may already be busy,
Thoughts moving quickly,
Jumping from one thing to another,
There's nothing you need to do about that.
For now,
Simply bring your attention to the sound of my voice,
Let it become something your mind can rest against.
Begin to notice your breathing,
No need to change it,
Just noticing the natural rhythm in and out.
As you listen,
You might start to notice that thoughts can move into the background,
Not disappearing,
Just becoming less important.
Imagine your mind like a snow globe that's been shaken,
Thoughts swirling,
Overlapping,
Busy.
You don't need to stop the movement,
Just allow the globe to be placed gently down.
As you breathe,
Notice how the snow begins to settle on its own,
No effort required.
If a thought pulls your attention,
That's okay,
Let it drift past,
Like a cloud crossing the sky,
You don't need to follow it.
Your unconscious mind knows how to organize,
Restore,
And reset,
It does this naturally when you give it space,
And with each breath out,
Imagine creating a little more room inside your head,
A little more quiet between thoughts.
You might notice sensations in your body,
Heaviness,
Warmth,
Softening,
Let those sensations deepen,
And quietly repeat to yourself in your own time,
I don't need to solve anything right now.
As that message settles in,
Imagine your thoughts moving further away,
Like turning down the volume on a radio,
Still there,
Just quieter,
Your mind can rest,
Your body can reset,
Nothing needs your attention in this moment,
And spend a few moments here,
Allowing your system to recalibrate,
Letting the unconscious do what it does best,
And when you're ready,
Begin to bring your awareness back,
Noticing the surface beneath you,
The sounds around you,
And take a deeper breath in,
And gently open your eyes,
And carry this quieter state with you,
Knowing you can return to it whenever you need.
