Hello again and welcome.
My name is Pratiga.
Today I'd like to invite you to a simple pointing.
Not what is life,
But what is interpreting life.
Notice that before a thought appears,
There is simply an awareness of it.
Hearing,
Seeing,
Feeling.
Breathing,
Life just as it is.
Nothing is yet to be named,
Nothing compared,
Nothing judged.
There is simply the knowing of what is present.
Then almost unnoticed a thought appears.
Oh,
This is good.
This shouldn't be happening.
I understand.
I don't understand.
I like this.
Oh,
I don't like this.
The experience itself has not changed.
Only the interpretation of an experience has appeared.
Most of our suffering does not arise from life itself.
It arises from believing.
Our interpretation.
Thought then says.
I know what this means,
But does it?
Or is it simply offering another interpretation?
Of something already complete.
Already here.
Take a moment now to notice.
A sound appears,
Before the mind says,
Bird.
Or traffic.
What is actually present.
Simply the hearing of what is.
A sensation appears before the mind calls it.
Pleasant or unpleasant.
But what is there?
Simply a sensation.
Life is astonishingly beautiful.
Personal Interpretation can make it complicated.
The mind is not wrong.
Interpretation has its place.
And helps us navigate the practical world.
But psychologically,
It continually creates a second version of life.
One that exists because of interpretation.
Appearing as thought.
Can there be,
Just for this moment,
A willingness and openness?
Acquired awareness not to be the next interpretation.
A thought appears,
It is known.
And now that appears,
It too is known.
Even the impulse to understand this meditation.
Is known.
What knows the interpretation is never itself interpreting.
It simply knows,
Effortlessly present.
Silently as is.
Perhaps this quiet knowing has been present through every experience of our life.
Unchanged.
While every interpretation has come and gone.
Nothing needs to be stopped.
Nothing needs to disappear.
Interpretation may continue.
Thought may continue.
Life continues.
Yet all of it is simply known in knowing.
Blessings to you.
