Welcome to the meditation,
You Are Not Flawed Before we begin,
Take a moment to realize that everything in your life,
Thoughts,
Feelings,
Sensations,
Experiences,
Conversations,
Memories,
All are localized,
Temporary appearances within something infinitely greater.
This greater reality is one's inseparable awareness,
Also known as one's natural or higher mind.
Awareness is not a thing you have to search for.
It is unborn,
Infinite and eternally present.
It is an ever-present field in which all experiences,
Including yourself,
Arise and fade in the play of life.
Awareness is like the vast boundless sky The sky is always there,
Vast and clear.
No matter what clouds temporarily appear within it,
They all eventually fade.
And after they do,
The sky remains intact,
Pristine,
Unmoved and untouched.
Thoughts,
Feelings,
Emotions and judgments,
Even the sense of who you are or who you believe yourself to be,
Are all appearances within this field of inseparable awareness,
And all eventually fade and return back to it.
Awareness has always remained its essential,
Untouched,
Clear,
Spacious wholeness.
This meditation points to the understanding that to have full access to one's boundless,
Inseparable awareness,
One's boundless potential,
All one needs to do is to rest quietly for short meditative moments,
Repeated many times each day,
Until the recognition of one's inseparable awareness becomes effortless and automatic.
And at any time when you are wishing to return and fully rest in this self-awareness-wisdom presence,
Simply breathe and spend time with your natural,
Calm mind.
And in this exercise we will show you how to do that.
And this presence is free from all that limits,
Labels,
Falsely defines and identifies.
To begin,
I'll get you to sit comfortably in a chair or on a cushion or a mat on the floor and just relax.
Keep your back and neck straight and head upright.
Rest your hands gently in your lap and fully relax your shoulders.
Now take a long slow deep breath in through your nose,
Eyes closed and mouth closed.
At the top of the breath,
Pause for a moment.
Then exhale through your nose.
Pause again at the bottom of the breath before you next inhale.
At the top of that breath,
Pause again before you exhale.
Let your breathing now find its own natural relaxed rhythm.
And as you relax more deeply,
Bring your attention more inward to the quiet space of the heart center.
That spacious presence where everything in your experiencing appears.
Now whatever arises in the mind,
Be relaxed,
Remain open and free.
Perhaps there are some words,
A thought or a memory of an experience,
Or words once heard or are currently being heard.
You may hear,
You are flawed,
You are not good enough,
You will never amount to anything.
Why can't you be more like your brother or sister?
You are such a disappointment to me.
Why can't you be like other people?
Remember,
All these words are simply temporary appearances within one's overall field of awareness.
They have no base,
No permanence,
They have no home they belong to.
They are not the truth,
They are not any sort of truth,
Especially yours.
Such words come from someone else's pain,
Their frustration is not with you,
But from within their own life.
Such words do not come from a happy place,
They come from a place of great pain or trauma,
Of great imbalance.
These words imagine a light cloud in the sky.
They have only temporary form,
Then dissolve,
Leaving no trace as they fade away into the vast field of untouchable awareness.
The vast sky itself,
Like your own pristine awareness,
Is never diminished,
Never touched,
Remaining spacious,
Free,
And whole.
Remember this,
You can make this your personal mantra.
Words have no power over me.
Words have no power of their own.
The only power words may have,
Is if I give them power by holding onto them,
Believing them,
Or acting on what they are saying.
Now,
If words are believed,
They can form sentences,
Then sentences can become a story,
And stories can last a lifetime.
It all depends on one's deepest knowing,
Depends on the wisdom of clear seeing,
As to what is reality,
And what is a self-created illusion.
On what you know to be true,
Not on what someone else has told you,
What their truth is of you.
The moment you stand back from these words,
Is the moment that these words are like clouds,
Passing by in the sky as you stand back.
A clear freedom,
An all-embracing lightness,
And a clarity returns as they leave.
Because you are never bound by these words,
You never were,
And never will be.
Whenever you feel challenged by what someone else says,
Find a quiet space,
Take a long deep breath,
Hold it for a moment,
Then exhale slowly.
Bring your attention to the heart center,
Your center of awareness,
And rest there,
Even if it's for only a minute,
And remember your mantra.
Say it to yourself silently,
Or out loud.
Repeat it as often as you need to.
Each time you return to your center of personal truth,
You loosen the holding power of words,
And strengthen the knowing wisdom,
And sincerity,
And clarity in the recognition of your inner peace,
Inner perfection,
Your own vast abiding self-awareness.
Rest again now for a short moment,
Embracing this greater truth of the natural higher mind.
Your joyful self-awareness is always here,
Free,
Powerful,
Whole,
And wise.
You are not the cloud or the words,
But the vast clear sky in which they appear.
Return again now for another short moment of fully resting in your wisdom,
Freedom,
Power,
Of self-awareness,
Of your boundless potential.
Notice how judgments,
All thoughts,
All suggestions of fault or criticism,
Blame or flaw,
Appear for a moment,
Then fade.
This is the nature of all experiencing.
All that arises is simply an expression within awareness itself,
And eventually returns to it,
Into the space of stillness and calm or pure,
Inseparable awareness.
Each moment of self-recognition deepens your conscious knowing,
Your own truth,
Your own self-belief of what you truly and eternally are.
Remember,
You are not flawed.
Such words are not known to your natural mind.
They have no impact in the light of one's pure awareness.
It is only what someone else has said,
Or what your own uncertain,
Insecure,
Fearful or doubtful mind may have repeated to you.
These words,
Like all others,
Fade as soon as they appear,
As soon as they are said or felt.
Watch them pass by as leaves flowing past on a clear mountain stream,
On their way to a calm and vast ocean.
Stand as your own truth of boundless potential,
Of infinite possibilities.
The wisdom of your inner awareness knows this.
You are an open field of infinite being.
A field of infinite possibilities in which everything appears and disappears.
And as they do,
You remain untouched.
You are free,
Vast,
All-embracing and whole.
Now to conclude this meditation.
As this meditation comes to a close,
Carry this understanding with you.
Everything that appears in your life,
Thoughts,
Feelings,
Experiences,
Criticisms,
All are temporary,
Localized appearances,
All passing by within awareness.
They arise and fade.
But your unmoving background of your wisdom,
The truth of your pure awareness,
Your knowing of the pure self,
Remains intact and whole.
Throughout your day,
Pause often for short moments to remember.
You are not your thoughts.
You are not someone else's story.
You are not their words.
They have no power or influence over you.
You are an open field of infinite being.
Untouchable,
Boundless,
Spacious and aware.
You are the source of all wisdom,
Love,
Compassion,
Creativity and freedom.
A couple of questions for you.
When you hear or think the words,
I am flawed,
Where do these words appear?
In your essence or only as passing thoughts?
Can you notice that the awareness in which all thoughts arise is already whole and untouched?
And what happens when you rest for a short moment in awareness rather than following a mind of judgment or criticism?
