Welcome to another episode of Silent Superheroes,
Where we learn how,
With the power of silence and the breath,
That we can all be superheroes right now.
I want you to take a seat and just take a big slow breath in through your nose and out through your mouth.
Are you ready?
Let's do it.
Great work.
I'm sure that you're feeling a little bit calmer already.
And that's the point here.
Whenever we're feeling stressed or angry or people aren't listening to us,
Do you know what we can do?
We can take a big slow breath and calm ourselves down and then we're able to explain ourselves so much better.
Let's take another big slow breath in through the nose and out through the mouth.
Sometimes if we're a little bit overwhelmed,
We can start getting so frustrated that we make yelling sounds and screaming sounds and our body all tenses up.
And our parents or our teachers or our carers,
They keep telling us to calm down and we yell back,
We are calm,
We're not angry,
We're not tired.
But we are yelling and that tells them something.
It tells us that we're not that calm and the best way to get calm is to just take big slow breaths because once we take those slow breaths,
We'll be better able to talk to them and better able to explain to them what we want,
What we need and how we're going to get it.
Because when we're calm,
People are more likely to listen and more likely to talk.
So it's better for everyone.
You particularly.
So let's take another big slow breath.
But this time I want you to stretch your arms big,
Big,
Big,
Big,
Big to the sky as you breathe in and then let them fall down as you breathe out.
Let's give it a try.
Ready?
Arms up to the sky.
Hold it,
Hold it,
Hold it and release.
Let's do that again and use our whole body.
So when we breathe in,
We're going to reach up as big as we can to the sky and hold it there and then when we breathe out,
We're just going to let it all go.
You ready?
Let's do it.
Hold it,
Hold it and release.
You're doing so great.
So remember,
The next time you're feeling angry or sad or frustrated or even that just people just aren't listening,
Just move aside.
Take some slow,
Calm breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth.
You can stretch your body while you're doing it.
And then after you do that,
You'll be in a lot better place.
You'll be so much calmer and so much able to explain yourself and then you might be able to better get what you are after in the first place.
So the last thing we're going to do is three more slow,
Calm breaths in through our nose and out through our mouth.
Just three.
You ready?
Let's do it.
That's a great job.
Remember,
If you want to be a silent superhero,
If you want the power of calmness and control,
All you need to do is take three slow breaths and you can do that anytime you like.
Have a great day.
