This intention-setting meditation is perfect to do first thing in the morning and is crafted to help you lean into the energy you'd like to embody throughout your day, while releasing any hard expectations. "High intention, low expectation" is a phrase a friend gave me that helps me let go of gripping to outcomes and to fill each moment with as much intention as possible. Wishing you a blessed, joyful day. Background Music: Enlightened Drift by Amber Glow || Available on Epidemic Sound

Hello my friends!

Welcome back to Your Journey Yoga.

My name is Natalia and today we have a simple morning meditation for an intentional day.

This practice is best done seated but you can do it lying down if that feels supportive for you this morning.

Take a moment to settle in and we'll begin.

As you begin to land here in the present moment,

Take a big full inhale and an audible exhale through your mouth.

Two more of those at your own pace.

Notice if the body wants to make any adjustments as you arrive here and maybe you do adjust just a tad but then allow yourself to really settle and find stillness even if resistance arises through restlessness.

Can you let yourself soften?

Slow down.

Simplify.

Notice if you're clenching anywhere in the face,

The belly,

The legs,

The back.

Where can you let go?

Is there anything physically that can be released?

And perhaps the breath is a solid companion for this.

Letting a big full inhale and long slow exhale help you soften into the now.

As you continue to soften the body and find a little more relaxation just let yourself observe any sound that you can hear,

Anything that you can feel.

Maybe even noticing if you can see anything behind your eyelids like shadows,

Any shapes or light.

Becoming immersed in everything that is here with you in the present moment and if some of it feels challenging or irritating,

Let yourself energetically giggle,

Brush it off and settle into a little acceptance for what is.

Nothing in this moment is really that big of a deal.

You have the time to sit down,

To meditate,

To breathe,

To start your day intentionally.

So what intention would you like to move with?

Can you release anything that is keeping you away from being authentic or joyful or present?

How do you want your day to feel?

How do you want to connect with others today?

How do you want to move as you walk,

As you run,

As you work,

As you play?

How would you like the body to feel?

How would you like the heart and the mind to feel today?

And is there a golden thread in all of this that you can anchor into?

Is there a golden thread of intention that you can weave into every single moment of the day that is yet to unfold?

Maybe that comes in the form of a word or a mantra or maybe it's just a felt sense in the body that you anchor into.

Trust in however it arrives for you and give yourself a moment to be with it,

To imagine your day and what it looks like when it is filled with this intention.

And as you are envisioning your intention-filled day,

See if you can soften any expectations that you may have attached to this.

Because no matter how much we intend for things to go,

Sometimes roadblocks arise,

Irritation occurs,

And things just don't go exactly the way we want them to.

So how would you intend to navigate your expectations being broken?

Can your intention for the day flow with that?

Trust and know that whatever comes up today for you,

You will make it to the end of the day.

You will settle into sleep and you will start again tomorrow.

And you can still move with a strong intention and low expectation,

With an open heart and an open mind and a lot of trust in what every single moment is for you.

Take five more big intentional breaths here,

Anchoring deeply into your intention and softening any expectation.

If you feel calm,

You can bring your hands to rest at your heart center,

Maybe gently bowing your chin to your chest.

Thank you for choosing to start your day this way.

I hope it serves you in all the ways that it needs to.

I'll see you in the next practice.

Namaste.
