Energy Visualisation Meditation
by Andrew Crust
This is a 35-minute guided meditation without music. Visualisation of energy and the cycling of that energy through the energetic body (chakras) are used as well as the affirmations of goals associted with each chakra. This practice will benefit those seeking to optimise the flow of energy / prana or chi throughout their body, renergising the physical and subtle bodies and helping to recalibrate the senses toward the subtle.
Transcript
This is an energy visualization meditation.
You don't need anything special to enjoy this meditation with me.
Just a space where you won't be disturbed and somewhere comfortable to rest.
Maybe lying on the back or seated,
Whichever you prefer.
Do make sure that you will be warm enough.
Sometimes during the meditation our metabolism can slow down a little and our body temperature can fall slightly.
This may make us uncomfortable and disturb our meditative journey.
So come into your comfortable position now.
Somewhere where you will be comfortable and able to completely relax your body.
Perhaps you are lying on the back with your eyes closed.
Or if you prefer,
Just fixing a soft gaze towards the ceiling.
Whatever comes most naturally to you.
Arms lying alongside the body.
All of the muscles of the arms relaxed.
Legs relaxed,
Allowing the feet to fall out if that's more comfortable for you.
Natural breathing in and out through the nose.
Just settling into your space.
Wherever you are,
Start to become aware of the sounds around you.
Maybe start with the sounds that are furthest away.
Perhaps these are coming from outside.
Allow these sounds to pass by you or through you without judging or labelling them.
Almost as if you are watching traffic pass by on some distant road.
Gradually move that awareness to sounds that are closer to you.
Perhaps in the same building or even in the same room.
Again,
Allowing them to pass by or through you without judging,
Labelling,
Trying to understand.
Just like watching traffic pass by.
Gently move that awareness to the sounds within.
The sounds of your physical body.
The sound of your breath.
The inhale,
Drawing in vital prana,
Chi,
Energy into the body.
As it enters through the nostrils,
As it passes over the back of the throat.
Moving down towards the lungs.
Or the sound of the exhale,
Rising from the lungs,
Back of the throat,
Out through the nostrils.
Again,
Simply observe with detachment.
Allow the breath to enter and leave the body to its own rhythm.
Observing perhaps that the rhythm slows by itself as you relax.
Inhale and exhale.
Inhale and exhale.
Inhale and exhale.
Become aware of the sound of your heartbeat.
Pumping steadily,
Calmly,
As it moves blood throughout the physical body.
As energy moves with it through the astral body,
The energetic body.
You may be able to feel that energy radiating out from the heart.
Rolling out gently,
Ceaselessly,
Like waves in the ocean.
To the arms,
All the way to the fingers,
To the legs,
Feet and toes.
To the neck and up into the head,
Reaching every part of the body.
Waves of warmth and relaxation.
Moving through you,
Lapping gently at the shoreline of your extremities.
Simply observe this with detachment as those waves gently ripple through the body.
Inhale and exhale.
Inhale and exhale.
Inhale and exhale.
Move your awareness to the sense of touch.
Become aware of your skin,
The touch of your clothes against your skin.
The gentle movement of air over your bare skin.
The caress of whatever surface is supporting you.
Maybe even the gentle yielding of that surface.
As your body becomes just a little heavier,
Sinking ever so slightly into that surface.
Inhale and exhale.
Inhale and exhale.
Inhale and exhale.
Bring to mind a favourite taste or flavour that you associate with being relaxed and content.
A comfort food perhaps.
As you experience that taste or flavour,
Take the focus beyond.
Beyond to the sensation or the emotion it creates in you.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Your sense of smell may become heightened.
You may associate a particular aroma with being relaxed or content.
Whatever it is,
First bring it to mind.
Then move again beyond the experience to the sensation or the emotion it creates in you.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Inhale.
Exhale.
With our focus inward,
We are ready to explore the manifestation,
Creation,
Circulation and consolidation of our internal energy.
Bring your attention back to your breath.
Observing the gentle rise and fall of the chest.
As we inhale and exhale.
Rising and falling.
Inhale and exhale.
As you follow the breath in and out through the nostrils.
Feel the energy,
Prana or chi.
You draw in,
Building in the heart centre,
In the middle of the chest.
Building,
Expanding,
Increasing our store of pure energy.
Feel that energy pulsing as it expands,
Filling the heart centre with compassion,
Love and trust.
Inhale and exhale.
Compassion,
Love,
Trust.
Inhale,
Exhale.
Compassion,
Love,
Trust.
Inhale and exhale.
On your next inhale,
Draw that energy back into the middle of the spine.
Up the spine to the neck,
Over the back of the head,
To a point between the eyebrows.
Sometimes referred to as Arjuna,
The third eye or the sixth chakra.
Continue your natural breathing here.
As all of the energy from the heart centre moves to Arjuna between the eyebrows.
Feel that energy bringing insight,
Perception,
Intuition.
Inhale,
Exhale.
Insight,
Perception,
Intuition.
Inhale and exhale.
Insight,
Perception,
Intuition.
Inhale and exhale.
On your next exhale,
Draw the energy from that point,
Arjuna,
Between the eyebrows,
Down the front of the face,
The body,
Back to the heart centre.
And repeating this cycle for the next four or five breaths.
As we inhale,
We take the energy back,
Up the spine,
Over the head,
To the point between the eyebrows.
Insight,
Perception,
Intuition.
And exhaling,
We draw that energy down the front of the face,
The neck,
To the heart centre.
Compassion,
Love,
Trust.
You may wish to visualise a cool blue sphere of energy moving from the heart centre,
Back to the spine,
Over the top of the head,
Between the eyebrows,
And back down the front of the face and neck,
To the heart centre.
Inhale,
Arjuna.
Insight,
Perception,
Intuition.
Exhale,
Heart centre.
Compassion,
Love,
Trust.

If you're comfortable with retaining your breath,
As you inhale,
Try pausing at Arjuna,
That point between the eyebrows,
Before exhaling and returning to the heart centre.
Again,
Repeating this four or five times.
Inhale,
Pause.
Arjuna,
Insight,
Perception,

Again,
Only if you're comfortable,
Perhaps also add a pause after your exhale,
Pausing at the heart centre,
Before inhaling,
Pausing at Arjuna,
The point between the eyebrows,
Exhaling and returning to the heart centre.
Repeating again,
Four or five times.
Inhale,
Pause.
Arjuna.
Insight,
Perception,
Intuition.

On your next exhale,
Draw that energy all the way down from Arjuna between the eyebrows to a point between the pelvis and the belly button,
Sometimes referred to as Svaadhisthana or the second chakra,
Creativity,
Pleasure,
Relaxation.
On the next inhale,
Move that energy back to the pelvic floor,
Sometimes referred to as Muraladhara or the first chakra,
Grounding,
Health,
Security.
Continuing the inhale,
Draw the energy all the way at the back of the spine,
The neck over the top of the head,
Pausing at Arjuna between the eyebrows before exhaling and drawing that energy all the way down the front of the body to Svaadhisthana,
That point between the pelvis and the belly button,
Pausing here before inhaling,
Drawing to the pelvic floor all the way up the spine,
Pausing again at Arjuna between the eyebrows.
Continuing with this cycle at your own pace and your own rhythm with or without retention of the breath.
Arjuna,
Insight,

Exhale,
Svaadhisthana,

Inhale,
Arjuna,
Insight,
Perception,
Intuition.
As you continue to circulate the energy down the front of the body and at the back of the spine,
Perhaps you become aware of a subtle yet strong vibration.
Subtle,
Yet increasing slightly each time.
We move that energy through the cycle.
Perhaps that vibration radiates out from the spine,
Out through the torso,
The limbs to the hands and feet.
Continue to cycle the energy down the front of the body,
Up the back of the body,
Bringing your attention to Arjuna,
Insight,
Perception,
Intuition.
Svaadhisthana,
Creativity,
Pleasure,
Relaxation.
Muraladhara,
Grounding,
Health,
Security.
Arjuna,
Insight,
Perception,
Intuition.
Svaadhisthana,
Creativity,
Pleasure,
Relaxation.
Muraladhara,
Grounding,
Health,
Security.
Perhaps pausing at each point in contemplation,
Or if you prefer,
Simply continuing with one smooth cycle after another,
Moving the energy,
Or the blue sphere,
Through the body.
I will now give you silence to continue repeating this cycle for about another three minutes.
Arjuna,
Insight,
Perception,
Intuition.
Svaadhisthana,
Creativity,
Pleasure,
Relaxation.
Muraladhara,
Grounding,
Health,
Security.

Arjuna,

Arjuna,
Insight,
Perception,
Intuition.
On your next inhale,
Bring the cycling of the energy to a gentle stop,
Holding or maintaining the blue sphere of energy.
Add Arjuna between the eyebrows,
And returning gently to natural breathing.
Perhaps now the only sensation that remains in the body is that subtle vibration radiating out from the spine,
Filling the body.
Savour this sensation for a few more breaths,
Natural breathing,
Your own rhythm.
Inhale and exhale.
Inhale and exhale.
Inhale and exhale.
Inhale and exhale.
Gently draw the blue sphere of energy from Arjuna back to the heart centre where we started.
Completing the cycle of energy creation,
Energy circulation,
And now energy consolidation back in the heart centre.
Inhaling and exhaling.
Inhaling and exhaling.
Inhaling and exhaling.
Keeping your eyes closed,
Start to become aware again of the noises around you.
Gently bring your presence back to the room.
Gently try moving the fingers and the toes.
In your own time,
Roll into one side,
Before gently coming back to a comfortable seated position.
Taking a couple of breaths here,
Before slowly blinking the eyes open.
Staying here for as long as you need today,
For as long as you wish,
To make sure the benefits of this meditation carry forward into the rest of your day.
This completes this meditation.
Namaste.
