Your eyes have muscles too. How can you zero in on moving your eye muscles? Will that affect your vision? Will your sight of vibrant colors change? Will there be more darkness when you close your eyes? This is an active participation eye lesson on moving your eyes. Walk outside first and proceed with this lesson.

Transcript

Walk outside and notice the vibrant colors.

After your walk,

Come inside and have two clean socks with you or a sleep eye mask.

Lie down on the floor.

Lie still.

Close your eyes from the world of looking.

Notice the light when you close your eyes.

How bright is the light?

Is it strong or dim?

Place each sock or a sleep mask over each closed eye.

If you are not using socks,

Rub your palms together to create heat and place the middle part of the palms to cup over each eye.

Do not press on the eye.

Let your palms cover the surface of the eyes.

Open your eyes to see if there is any light coming through and rearrange the placement of the palms to create total darkness,

No light coming through.

Open and close your eyes several times to rearrange the placement of the palms as necessary for total darkness.

Let the eyes rest from the world of looking.

Sense the black areas,

Patches of darkness.

Notice the most black patch area.

Focus on it.

Make that black patch larger,

Gathering in the darkness.

Watch the periphery of your vision.

Observe it.

Flex the middle of both palms like catching rain and flatten your palms.

Watch the sensitivity of the light become slightly brighter and darker as you alternate between catching rain with your palms over your eyes and flattening the palms over your eyes.

Rest your arms by your sides.

Let your eyes move forward towards the sky on a parallel horizon.

Slowly,

Forward towards the sky.

Do not strain.

And then let your eyes fall back,

Move back and back where you were before until the eyes are deep in their sockets.

Slowly come back to center.

Again,

Slide your eyes forward and out of their sockets,

Outward towards the sky.

Keep them on a horizon.

Parallel railroad tracks.

And have them slide back evenly,

Each eye moving evenly,

And back into their sockets past and behind center.

Come to center and rest.

Does one eye move faster than the other?

Try again,

Moving your eyes at the same rate towards the sky,

Out of the earth,

And then back to land,

Digging into the earth's roots.

Come to center,

Rest.

Keep your eyes soft.

Let your lens adjust from resting.

Cover your eyes with each palm.

Don't worry about opening your eyes.

Trust your palms can cover the light.

Is there more light or more darkness?

Catch rain with the palms of your hands,

Flexing the palms and relaxing the palms,

Flattening the palms.

Notice the change of light.

Rest your arms by your sides.

Move your eyes along the straight horizon line 45 degrees to the right,

And towards the 45 degree sky,

Eyes coming out of the sockets,

Moving out 45 degrees and pausing.

Head staying in the middle,

Do not move the head,

And then eyes fall back into their sockets at 45 degrees.

Come to center.

Move your eyes along the straight horizon line 45 degrees to the left,

And then towards the 45 degree sky,

Eyes coming out of the sockets and pausing.

Let the eyes fall back into their sockets at 45 degrees.

Slowly.

Come to center.

Rest.

Let both eyes slide straight forward towards the sky,

And straight back,

Crossing behind center to fall deep behind your eye sockets.

And rest.

Remove each sock or mask from your eyes.

Breathe into the bright light you now see.

Fulfill this light with your deep breath.

Slowly,

Very slowly,

Open your eyes.

Take a walk back outside and notice the colors of the world.

The trees,

The grass.

Notice the differences from your first walk to this present one.
