And then we can make ourselves comfortable.
So we're planting our feet on the floor noticing where we put our feet and our legs,
Sort of in neutral so that our legs and our feet are comfortable.
And then let's take a deeper breath and allow our spine to grow a little bit.
And as we exhale we can settle into our chair a little bit and we'll see if we can find that balance between physically relaxed and mentally alert.
Our hands are somewhere comfortable,
Maybe resting on our lap.
And we're taking a few deeper breaths and each time we exhale we can allow ourselves to relax,
Maybe relax the muscles of our forehead,
Our jaw,
Our shoulders.
Becoming still and quiet,
Bringing our attention to our body,
To our breath in the present moment.
And maybe we can notice our body becoming more relaxed because our breath is becoming quieter.
Let's become aware of our body and the space around our body.
So the air around your body,
It's not empty,
It's full of nitrogen and oxygen and it holds us up just as the gravity holds us down.
We are completely held and supported.
And I want you to recall as we explore you are entirely held and supported and if anything becomes too uncomfortable you can return to your body and your breath as your anchor in the present moment.
So I'm going to invite you to feel your feet on the earth beneath your feet.
See if you can get a sense of the vast space,
Matter beneath you and it's inviting you to explore today.
Earth is welcoming you and she's inviting you to get to know her a little better.
So you can imagine yourself drifting downwards easily and comfortably.
We're going to slide and we imagine ourselves exploring beneath the surface of the earth.
I invite you to feel whatever feelings come up for you,
Whatever thoughts and whatever physical sensations arise.
So just as we explore the earth in our imagination we explore ourselves.
And we're sinking a little further and we can use our imagination in any way that works for us.
What does your imagination see?
And what do you think?
What do you feel?
And if it's something that you don't like very much can you notice yourself judging it as something you don't like?
But can you just allow it to be and feel into it a little further?
You're completely safe here exploring your limits with courage and curiosity.
So you are safe to explore the feelings of discomfort.
Imagine yourself turning it over and looking from a different angle,
A different perspective.
And we're going to sink down a little further.
It's warmer.
Pressure is intensifying.
We're sensing a glow from beneath our feet in the living heart of the earth.
We notice all and any sensations,
Thoughts,
Feelings that arise for us.
Still deeper.
While the temperature is great and the pressure is high,
Our imagination we can just observe this,
Noticing whatever comes up for us.
For a moment placing ourselves in the very center,
A brilliant core,
Radiant,
Intense and breathing.
Breathing in this energy,
Feeling how you feel,
Feeling how Mother Earth feels.
And then drifting upwards,
Drifting upwards through the layers,
Imagining the pressure changing,
The heat reducing.
Nearing the surface,
How do we feel?
And as we appear on the Earth's surface in our imagination,
Let's rest for a moment.
How do we feel as we emerge into the light and the fresh air?
Allowing the air to fill our lungs and in our mind's eye let's rest for a moment on the grass,
Maybe in a garden,
Maybe on a blanket.
Take a moment to rest from your adventure,
Noticing whatever comes up for you now as you consider your journey into the deep.
Then we breathe the fresh air and we allow the rays of the sun to fall upon our skin.
Maybe the buzz of bees and the scent of flowers around us,
Enjoying the goodness on the surface,
The abundance of life.
And returning our awareness once more to our body and our breath.
Just taking a moment to rest with our body and our breath,
To be with whatever our experience was,
To acknowledge our experience,
That that was right for us.
And taking a deeper breath and allowing it to energize our body.
Another deeper breath mobilizing our body,
Bringing movement into our feet and our hands,
Our arms and legs and having a little stretch.
I'm coming back to your waking consciousness when you're ready.
Thank you for practicing with me.
