Hello there,
This is Moira.
Here bringing you an experiential journey to help you get some wisdom from your future self,
From who you're becoming.
And so taking a nice deep breath,
Allowing yourself to get into a very comfortable and relaxed position.
You could be sitting or lying down,
Whatever is most comfortable for you at this moment.
Focus your awareness on your breathing.
Breathe in easily and effortlessly and then breathe out.
Each natural rhythmic breath allows you to go deeper and deeper inside.
As you allow yourself to go deeper into a state of relaxation,
I'd like you to remember a time when you stood in front of a pond,
On the edge of a pond,
Noticing how quiet and peaceful it was.
Perhaps you dropped a pebble into the center and noticed the ripples rippling out,
One ripple after another,
Flowing out farther and farther out.
And slowly the water returned to its original calm and peaceful state.
I'd like to invite you to imagine that your body is like that body of water.
As you drop a pebble into the center of your body,
You can feel ripples of relaxation rippling out throughout your entire body.
Up through your torso and your chest and your back.
Up through your spine and spreading out into each and every muscle of your back.
Through your shoulders and your arms.
Up through your neck,
Your jaw,
Your face and your scalp.
Feeling those ripples just relax as your muscles let go,
Becoming soft and loose.
You now feel the ripples of relaxation flow down to the bottom of your torso,
Flowing through your abdomen,
Your pelvis,
Through your thighs,
Your calves,
Ankles and toes.
Just know that each time you drop a pebble in the center of your body,
You become more and more relaxed.
As you become more relaxed,
You find yourself becoming more peaceful,
More quiet.
Now I'd like you to imagine yourself standing in a beautiful forest.
Off in the distance is a log cabin.
You can see smoke coming from the chimney as you approach.
Something feels very familiar about this place,
And it should.
You see this cabin belongs to your future self.
You,
Several years from now,
Just notice what it looks like.
What smells can you smell?
What noises do you hear?
Just allow yourself to get a full felt sense of this place.
Then walking up to the door,
Know that on the other side is your future self,
Waiting to greet you.
As the door opens,
What do you see?
What do you hear?
What do you feel?
Greet your future self and notice the way your future self returned your greeting.
Welcome you into this space and time,
Several years into the future.
Just take in this person,
Your future self.
What do they look like?
Notice how their posture is,
What they're wearing.
Get a sense of their essence.
And notice how you are feeling while in their presence.
Now take a look around the inside of this cabin.
What kind of person lives here?
And now move with your future self to a comfortable place in the cabin for a conversation.
Really settle in,
Make yourself comfortable.
I invite you to start your conversation by asking the following two questions of your future self.
The first question is,
What do I need to pay attention to most right now in my life?
And just feel and hear the answer.
And now ask your future self this question.
Knowing what you now know,
Is there one piece of advice you can give me to see what your future self has to share with you?
And now take a moment to ask your future self any other questions that you might have.
And now move with your future self.
What do I need to pay attention to most right now in my life?
And now it's time to bring your visit with your future self to a close.
Just thank your future self for being with you today and sharing their wisdom with you.
Say goodbye and head out of the cabin.
And as you start to walk away,
Just turn around and look at the cabin once more.
Taking a mental note or embracing what was said and what you're going to remember the most about your experience.
Bringing your awareness back to where you're sitting or lying,
Coming fully back into your body.
Focus on your breathing again.
Nice deep breath.
Wiggling your fingers and toes.
When you're ready,
You can gently open your eyes and you may wish to sit and journal some of the insights that came up for you in this experience.
