So I'll invite you to find a comfortable seated position,
Whatever feels comfortable for you.
And then when you are ready,
You can slowly let the eyes fall shut.
Or you can lower the gaze and start to find your breath.
Let your body be supported by the seat beneath you,
Noticing the grounding,
The anchoring.
Allow your shoulders to soften away from the ears.
Allow your hands to rest gently by your side.
Allow these first few rounds of breath to let you settle and arrive into the space.
Take a slow breath in through the nose and a long steady breath out through the mouth.
Again,
Inhale and exhale,
Allowing the body to soften.
Let the breath return to a natural rhythm,
Nothing to control,
Nothing to rush.
Just notice.
Noticing what's happening right now.
Now I'll invite you to bring your awareness into your body.
Feel the weight of yourself here.
Notice the point of contact,
The ground beneath you,
The support of your seat.
Now gently bring to mind a future version of yourself,
Just an idea,
Just you,
A little bit further along.
Notice what future you is doing.
Notice what future you is feeling.
Just allow yourself to sense them.
Allow yourself now to sense this future version of yourself.
Notice how this version of yourself is feeling.
Notice the energy they bring.
Notice their pace,
Their presence.
Now,
Instead of asking yourself what future you has achieved,
See if you can notice how future you is living.
Are they more rested,
More steady,
More at ease,
More present?
Allowing this embodiment of future you to really sink in.
Just notice,
Just imagine.
Now let yourself sense what future you might be needing from you today.
It doesn't need to be anything big,
Just something small and real.
Future you doesn't need perfection.
They don't need you in the present to have it all figured out.
Now,
Soaking in the present moment,
Knowing that you are caring for future you.
Feel the ground beneath you again,
Feeling the support underneath your seat.
Notice how this moment feels.
Now,
See if you can embody this feeling as you move into the future,
As you move through life,
The emotions,
The feelings.
Just know that this feeling of calm and presence and the idea of looking out for future you is always present.
You can stay with your breath for as long as you need.
When you are ready,
Bring movement into the fingers,
Maybe the toes.
And gently return to the space.
As you open your eyes,
Carry this with you.
You don't need to do everything at this moment.
You just need to take care of what matters one step at a time,
And maybe that's enough.
Looking out for future you is an act of kindness,
An act of care.
And knowing that you do one small thing for yourself every day is maybe everything you need.
