In times of need, this short practice allows you to connect quickly to yourself and feel grounded. Traditionally, a loving-kindness practice has 5 stages, but you can focus on the self as a 'circuit breaker' during the day when you need to reconnect to your body and feel safe. This is a very short loving kindness practice which can act as a circuit breaker during your day to reset your mind and connect you to yourself.

Settle into your seat or lie down on a comfortable surface.

Allow your body to drop a little,

To feel heavy.

If it's comfortable for you,

I invite you to close your eyes.

Take three slow breaths in through the nose and out through the mouth.

Not rushing or forcing anything.

And now inside your mind I invite you to repeat these three phrases.

May I be safe.

May I be well.

May I be happy.

And I invite you to be curious,

To see if you can have an emotional connection to the meaning of these words.

May I be safe.

May I be well.

May I be happy.

Repeat these words inside your mind silently to yourself and when you're ready bring your attention back to your body.

Allow yourself to return to the day.

And when you are ready open your eyes.
