Arrive in your body.
Letting your hands rest easily on your lap.
Or by your sides.
If it feels comfortable,
Close your eyes.
Soften the jaw.
And see if the body is resisting in any way to the command of relaxing.
And if you find any resistance,
Just see it for what it is.
And tell that part of the body that it's allowed to let go.
Not expecting anything just letting it know that it is okay to let go now for the next few moments,
There will be nothing to accomplish.
Nothing to understand.
Just take it as playtime.
Bring your attention to your breath.
And notice your very own rhythm.
As you inhale and as you exhale.
And follow it for a moment.
Follow your inhales and your exhales softly.
Like you are the companion of your breath.
Our minds like familiar patterns.
We think the thoughts that we have thought before.
We tell ourselves the same stories we've told before we reach for the answers that we already know.
And sometimes intuition just needs a little room outside those familiar paths.
And creativity gives us that room.
So for the next few moments we are going to let the mind be creative,
Go somewhere it doesn't usually go to.
So imagine that there is a large blank canvas in front of you.
It's white or it's black.
It depends on how you perceive it.
Or it could be any color at all.
And don't think too much,
Just notice what appears to you.
And imagine how in some way,
Without using your hands,
You can place one color onto this canvas.
Let the first color that wants to appear,
Appear.
And notice if it's bright.
If it's dark.
If it's sitting in one place or moving across the canvas.
There's no right way to look or to explore this.
Just let the color do whatever it wants to do.
And now allow for another color to arrive.
And just see what comes.
And watch what happens when the two colors meet.
Maybe they separate.
Maybe they blend.
One may be bigger than the other or same size.
Just let it be as it is for you.
And now let something come to the canvas,
A line,
A shape,
A swirl,
Anything,
A symbol.
Perhaps something from nature or something that you've never seen before.
Just there are no rules here.
There's no end goal or finished picture that you're trying to create.
And don't ask why,
Just let it appear.
And now I want you to become still for a moment and simply look or sense what you have created.
Don't interpret it.
Don't ask for what it means.
Don't try to turn it into a message,
Just notice.
Notice if there is a part of the painting that catches your attention,
If it evokes a feeling.
And let your attention rest there.
May be asking what wants my attention.
And just notice what comes.
Can be an image,
A feeling,
A memory.
Or maybe nothing.
Whatever comes,
Just let it be enough for you right now.
And let's begin to take a few deeper breaths.
The purpose was not to create something beautiful.
The purpose was to step outside your mind's familiar patterns or grooves for a few minutes.
And make room for something new.
To begin noticing your body again.
As you started with this meditation,
Notice your hands.
Notice your jaw.
And before you open your eyes,
Just ask yourself one more question.
What did I notice?
What surprised me?
About doing this exercise.
Don't analyze the answer,
Please.
Just notice what comes up.
What surprised me?
What did I notice?
And today,
Give yourself a few minutes to create something.
With no goal attached to the creation.
It could be a song that you start singing.
It could be a dance that you just spark in the kitchen.
Make something with your hands out of whatever object in nature.
And when you're finished creating,
Ask yourself,
What showed up when I stopped trying?
Simply noticing because sometimes intuition becomes easier to hear when the mind stops trying to find it.
And when you're ready,
You can open your eyes.
And welcome yourself back to your beautiful life.
