Find a comfortable seat.
Or lay down in your preferred position that you won't fall asleep in.
And allow your hands to rest wherever they naturally fall.
Make sure your arms are relaxed.
And if it feels comfortable,
Close your eyes or soften your gaze.
Take one slow breath in through the nose.
And exhale through the mouth.
And again,
Breathing in and letting go on your own.
A few more times.
There's nowhere you need to be for these next few minutes.
There's nothing you need to solve for these next few minutes.
Nothing to fix,
Just this moment for you.
Relax the muscles around your eyes.
Unclench your jaw.
And feel the body becoming a little heavier.
Supported by the Earth.
And feel their support.
And without opening your eyes or looking at anything specifically.
Begin to sense what you hear.
It may be a distant sound.
It may be something nearby.
And also notice the quiet between those sounds.
And now become aware of the air that's touching your skin.
Become aware of its temperature.
And become aware of the weight of your clothing on your skin,
On your body.
The feeling of your hands resting.
No need to describe it,
Just experiencing it.
Now notice any scent in the air.
And maybe it's obvious,
But maybe it's very subtle.
Maybe it just simply smells clean.
So whatever you experience is enough.
Just smell it.
Or sense what it feels like.
If you don't sense a specific smell.
If your eyes are closed,
Just imagine the room or the place that you're in.
Around you,
Above you,
Beneath you.
Notice the sense of space,
The space that holds you here.
Now bring your attention to the center of your chest.
Where your heart lives.
And imagine that you are breathing from there.
Imagine that the breath can gently flow.
In and out of your heart.
Breathing in through the heart.
Breathing out through the heart slowly.
And comfortably.
And with each breath,
Imagine creating a little more space.
Inside.
Not empty space,
But peaceful space.
Just like the stillness that we can perceive on a surface of a lake and the sunrise and everything reflecting there.
And thoughts may appear.
Which is completely natural.
Just notice them and let them drift by.
Floating away.
From this calm space.
I would like for you to ask one question.
That can be pressing for you right now.
And usually the most pressing question in your life will come naturally.
Spontaneously to you,
So don't search for it.
If you have to search,
Just stay with the image of the calm lake.
Until the question appears.
And quietly listen.
Anything you want to ask will appear.
This practice is not about forcing the answer.
Learning how to become someone that listens.
Stay here for a few more breaths.
Asking what do I need the most today?
What deserves my attention?
What is my next step?
Anything as simple or as complicated as you wish but make it specific.
Always letting the thoughts drift by when you notice them.
Coming back to the calm surface that can reflect your very own energy.
Whatever that means for you in your experience of right now.
Take one slow breath in.
And let it go.
And know that whatever answer came or didn't come You have practiced something much deeper today.
You've practiced becoming quiet before asking.
That is the practice.
And that quiet is where intuition often feels safe.
Feels calm enough to speak.
Knowing that you are someone that can do that.
Will make it easier for you to do it as needed.
When you're ready you can open your eyes.
