Welcome,
Dear one.
This is your self-led morning practice,
A sacred space to begin your day connected and anchored in self.
Each morning we meet one of the original qualities of your essence,
The natural energies that live within your soul.
Today,
We awaken connectedness,
The quality of self that allows the heart to soften,
To feel others,
To be felt and to belong to the world again.
Take a moment to anchor into your seat.
Let your breath find its natural rhythm,
Flowing in and out.
With each inhale,
Arrive a little more.
With each exhale,
Release what is not needed.
As you slowly turn inward,
Notice how your heart feels this morning.
Is there openness?
Is there love?
Or is there a sense of a slight pushback,
Distance or separation?
Maybe some sort of protection?
Connectedness naturally arises when our protective layers soften.
But sometimes protectors hold the heart tight,
Like shells,
Believing they must keep the world at a safe distance.
Notice if there is any part of you that feels like it needs everyone a few steps away.
Notice if you sense a protector who is suspicious,
Guarded or projecting danger onto others.
You do not need to fix anything.
Just meet these parts with compassion and open heart.
And let those protectors of the heart know that they are doing an important job.
Thank them for keeping you safe.
And also let them know that today you have grown,
Matured and they do not need to work so hard to protect you.
That today you need way less of their supervision.
Let these parts see you in your full presence,
In your full age,
Today.
Let them know,
Today I simply want to open my heart a little more.
Just a little.
To feel more connected.
More open.
To let the love in and out.
Some of our protectors of the heart may be quite strong,
Firm and very,
Very committed to keeping the heart protected and closed.
And we also have young parts that might need a sense of safety first.
See if you sense young parts,
Wrap them gently in a soft bubble of love and care so that they feel safe with you.
And so,
Younger parts that need protection and safety and their protectors that keep the heart closed.
Let all of them know they are welcome and they are safe with you today.
Let them feel your love,
Let them feel your care towards them.
And now,
You can ask them,
Would you soften a little bit?
Just for a moment,
Would you put down the shield?
Would you soften the walls,
The protections?
So,
Notice if they are ok with that.
And can you welcome the ability to feel your heart and hearts of other people without defenses?
Notice how your chest responds.
Is there a slight sense of warmth,
Expansion,
Lightness?
Connectedness is quite delicate,
But our inherent natural ability is who we are.
So,
Notice how much your heart feels safe to open today.
Maybe 1% more or maybe 50% more.
No matter how much it feels safe to open heart today,
Notice how that changes.
Notice how you feel your own heart,
How you feel the world and others without fear.
So,
From this softened space,
You may invite connectedness to flow through you.
Feel your own warm,
Tender human heart expanding.
How does it feel to be connected?
Connected?
To feel others?
And to allow others to feel me?
And if at some point something feels too much,
Let your protectors know,
They can come back,
Take their positions right away,
But for now.
Keep exploring that space of connection to oneself,
Others and to life.
Let that connectedness warm,
Heal your heart,
Opening to life,
Flowing through your body into the world,
Guiding your day.
Now begin to sense your surroundings again.
The air,
The sounds,
Things around you.
Allow this quality you have touched today,
Connectedness,
Be the energy that guides your day.
Let it infuse your actions,
Your choices,
Your voice and the way you relate to others.
Take one last deep breath,
And as you exhale,
Let your heart open,
Be receptive and ready to meet the day from self.
