Mindful Awareness Practices (MAPs) for Daily Living

Join Dr Marvin Belzer, Associate Director of Mindfulness Education at UCLA's Mindful Awareness Research Center to learn the basics of mindfulness and meditation. Mindful Awareness Practices (MAPs) are the signature evidence-based educational programs of the UCLA Mindful Awareness Research Center. The classes lay the foundation for students to understand basic principles of mindfulness, develop a personal meditation practice, and to apply the principles in their daily life on an ongoing basis. Each class is a combination of lecture, practice, and group feedback and discussion. MAPs is taught in a context of a supportive community environment. For those based in the US, you can take advantage of our Buy Now, Pay Later option at checkout. Due to differences in time zones, we understand that not everyone will be able to join the session live. But that doesn’t mean you need to miss out. You can still purchase the workshop and the recordings will be sent to you after the session.


Students will...

  • Learn Mindfulness of the Body and obstacles to Learn mindfulness tools to help with physical pain

  • Learn to work with difficult emotions and cultivate positive emotions

  • Understand how to work through difficult thoughts and have more mindful interactions

  • Be taught a variety of practices including; sitting meditation, eating meditation, daily life meditations, relational mindfulness and walking meditation

  • Learn standing meditation, movement meditation and practices to develop positive emotions


This learning experience includes:

  • 12 hours of live content, including a lecture, experiential activities and a Q&A with MAPs expert Dr. Marvin Belzer

  • Exercises, breakout rooms, discussions and handouts to enhance the learning experience

  • Access to a private circle to continue the conversation

  • A recording of the workshop which you can access up to 3 months after the event
