Hello,
My name is Jacqueline and I'd like to thank you for choosing to share this moment in time with me.
How to manage stress using your mobile phone sounds a bit strange,
But when we're prepared for anything in life,
We can deal with it much better.
So for example,
If we were going to bake a cake,
We would make sure we had all the ingredients ready before we began.
And so being prepared for certain situations in life should just be a natural thing for us.
And I use my mobile phone every day for lots of different reasons,
But I'm also very prepared with it to help myself out if I feel stressed,
Anxious or worried about something.
And it's very simple really,
And you probably even have it on your phone already,
That these are the things that I use my phone for to help manage my stress levels.
So the first thing I have is a special album in my photograph section of my phone.
And in this album,
I have pictures that make me smile.
So they could be pictures of animals,
Pictures of my grandchildren,
Pictures of something funny that I saw.
I remember seeing one time in a hotel that I went to,
There was some tissues,
And they were in this box that looked like it was a face with the mouth wide open and the tissues were poking out and you just drew one out.
And that always makes me smile whenever I see that.
It can be pictures of anything that makes you smile.
Seeing a picture of chocolate makes me smile.
So I have lots of pictures of chocolate on there.
So anything at all that makes you smile.
So have this album ready so that when you're feeling anxious,
Worried or even just a little sad,
You can just open up this album and flick through the pictures until you feel better about life,
About things in that moment.
Another album that I have is in my music section.
So this is a playlist.
And I have music in this on this playlist and the album it's called or the playlist itself is called Let's Get Jiggy.
And I have songs in there that I just can't stop myself from getting up and moving about to.
And I might just hear something when I'm out and about and think,
That's a great one.
I need to put that into my Let's Get Jiggy playlist.
And there's lots of different songs in there.
And they're from all different eras,
Different genres,
Different everything,
But they're songs that make me want to move.
And I'm always adding to it.
And I'm also deleting some sometimes because what may have been good one time probably doesn't work so well now and that's okay.
And so that's a really good thing for me as well.
My Let's Get Jiggy playlist because who can resist to move when you hear certain music?
Now not all music does that for us.
That's why we need a little playlist there.
I know that some of the music that I really like can make me feel sad.
Some of the music that I really like can make me feel melancholy.
And so in that moment when I'm feeling stressed or anxious,
They're not the things that I want to listen to.
So that's why I have this special playlist.
Another thing that I use are podcasts.
I love listening to podcasts.
I also have my own podcast Tranquil Spirits.
And on there I have motivational talks that I do.
But I like listening to any podcast,
Anything that motivates me,
Things that make me smile,
Things that are funny,
People that I know that are talking about their life.
I love listening to people's lives because you learn a lot from other people from what they've experienced.
I mean,
Look at us now I'm sharing with you the things that I use to manage my stress levels,
To make me feel happy.
So we've always got something that we can share with someone.
So podcasts are free.
Normally,
If you have an iPhone,
There's Apple podcasts,
Just download the app if you haven't already got it on your phone and just search there for the things that make you smile,
The people that you enjoy listening to,
Anything in fact.
So podcasts are really good.
And also you can make a podcast list of those that really help.
Another very important list I feel is a list of people that you can call.
So you might have a list of people that you can call,
That can phone up at any time,
Just to have a moan to,
Just to complain to,
Not necessarily somebody that you want to have a chat with.
Because you know,
The more that we talk about something and the more somebody interacts with a negative conversation,
The bigger that negativity grows.
So sometimes we just need to get the negativity out of ourselves in order to put ourselves back into a positive place.
So really,
There's no point calling somebody who's going to join in that negative conversation with you,
Because that really isn't going to be serving you right.
So really,
You need to have that list of people that you know will just listen to you for a moment,
Allow you to get all that negativity,
All that frustration out,
And then turn the conversation around to being positive.
So a list of those people.
Also a list of people that will lift you up.
So people that you don't necessarily need to say anything to,
But you can just phone them up and say,
Hey,
Just talk to me,
Just tell me something good,
And then share with that person.
So that's another really good one to have.
And another good thing on your phone,
Which may sound a little strange,
But open up the photograph,
As if you're going to take a photograph,
And then flip the camera around.
So that you can see yourself in your phone.
And when you've done that,
I don't want you to take a picture,
I don't want you to take a video,
I just want you to talk to yourself.
And just say something like,
Hello beautiful,
I hope you're having a great day.
Or have a conversation with yourself.
Look at yourself in your phone,
Right into the eyes,
And say how are you feeling?
Well,
You know,
I'm not feeling great today.
What can I do to help you?
Well,
I don't know if there really is anything anyone can do to help me,
But I must be able to do something.
Well,
I'm not really sure at the moment because I don't feel that great.
Well,
How about I pull this funny face to make you smile?
You see how the conversation can go.
And sometimes by having that conversation with ourselves,
We can bring ourselves out of our stress or anxiety.
So those are my little tips of using your mobile phone to bring yourself out of your stress,
Out of your tension,
Out of any negative feeling,
And to turn it around so that you're feeling happy and more positive in life.
Thank you for sharing this time with me.
I hope some of these tips have helped you.
And share in the comments below how you're feeling.
I'd love to hear your tips for dealing with any stress or worries.
But for now,
Have a great day.
Enjoy what you're doing.
And I look forward to talking to you again soon.
Have a great day.
Bye for now.
