Time Restored Chapter 5 The Stones 2021 CE,
1600 CE,
1300 CE and 3500 BCE Graham knew full well that he would have both calmed and unsettled Tim and Jenna.
This was an unfortunate outcome when any near-immortal intermingles and interacts with those of a more limited earthly time clock.
He was glad to have met up with them both once again.
The last time was a few centuries back when Tim was his acolyte and Jenna was Tim's mother.
Tom,
As he was named then,
Had a brilliant engineering mind and it was no surprise that he was such a good car mechanic in this incarnation.
There weren't many vehicles he couldn't coax back into life.
Even though Jenna was now his wife,
As a nurse it was clear that she acted as a mother figure to Tim in this mortal loop.
He would be lost without her.
Graham would be more open with them next week when he knew they would meet again.
Unknowingly they were both extremely talented temporal alchemists to be and would be part of the school's first intake.
A school of horology was a blind that Graham had used many times before As this one wouldn't have a website,
Be viewable from any road or have any signs on the road pointing to it,
It would never be found.
The company accounts would be squeaky clean,
Just showing a modest profit.
As usual this school of temporal alchemy would operate well beneath the radar and in between the cracks in space-time.
Meetings like this Sunday lunch always made Graham a little morose.
He had never chosen to be a near immortal and could now not quite remember when he first incarnated.
He knew he was on the earth plane in the 1300s when he handcrafted the clock now at Salisbury Cathedral.
He also knew that he fabricated Stonehenge a few hundred years later from centuries in its future.
Its construction was an example of a massive causal temporal loop.
The only way any modern society can advance at any speed and operate with any degree of safety is when the past is manipulated from the future.
It's more accurate to think of any school of temporal alchemy to be one where the secrets not just of time manipulation are taught but where students learn to manipulate space-time and initiate and control bifurcations and time loops.
For example the mainstones of the Henge came from Marlborough Downs.
It would be well-nigh impossible and somewhat pointless to attempt to build Stonehenge with 21st century lifting gear and transportation.
The way Graham,
Or Giraldo as he was known in the 1600s,
Had moved the stones was by transferring each of them into the void and then back again into the density.
He was prompted to do this as James I had commissioned the architect Inigo Jones to start surveying the monument.
It was important to solidify the timelines should anything be nudged out of place.
As the void sits across all time,
Once the stones were softened they blinked out of existence.
Their rough sides were smoothed down while in the void where the stones were weightless and as soft as butter.
Excess stone was re-densified as gravel and deposited back from where they left on the Marlborough Downs.
Each stone was then moved some 30 or so miles southwest in space several thousand years earlier in time and rotated through 90 degrees to be put in their resting place for millennia.
The stone circle was built in less than six moon orbits with one stone being moved a night.
Some of the inner blue stones had to come all the way from the Preseli Hills in Wales which is no distance away when using this temporal construction method.
And it was all done at night so nobody but a few sheep witnessed it and no life forms got inadvertently crushed in the process.
