42, Tom. 42.
Another interesting application of this track, oddly in keeping with the title, is decision-making. I listened as I sorted laundry, which is part of a closet purge I have undertaken recently. Certain items have been difficult for me, mainly in deciding whether to keep or donate. Purely sentimental reasons. I keep setting them aside, unable to make the decision.
The underlying running pace of the individual keyboard notes seem to have struck the same part of my brain that my go-to album for writing academic papers, doing tedious tasks, and powering through long and deadline-critical work in the office does. I felt the familiar indecision, but it took a backseat to a certain degree of clarity, and I was able to make decisions on a handful of these items at last. (That album I referenced, by the way, has been in my CD player, on my phone, and in my cassette player as applicable - or all at the same time - since 1991. Tangerine Dream, "Optical Race." Which also serves incredibly well as a workout album, particularly for my 5+K daily walks when walking on my own without a buddy.)
I do believe I am going to enjoy your growth into a composer if this was any measure to go by. I'm hoping to be able to pick up Soulwaves soon, by the way, and am looking forward to reading it.
(If you haven't already, I'd also really REALLY recommend you check out Alan Lightman's book, "Einstein's Dreams," a fascinating of the various imagined dreams Einstein may have had regarding different environments and scenarios as created by different concepts and application of time. Little vinegetes of deep, thought provoking wonderment. Also my very first ever purchased audiobook...ask on cassette. Still have it to this day. May see if it's on Audible or something. I loan my hardcover copy out only under carefully controlled conditions to friends. LOL)
Thanks for sharing your latest gifts with us, Tom. A pleasure as always. Now I not only see the light in you, I feel it as well. Thank you. π€²π»β€οΈπ€²π»
