Hello,
Welcome to this meditation for opening your heart chakra.
Before we begin,
I just want to invite you to take a moment to start to move your awareness out of the mundane and into the subtle and the sacred.
So if you'd like,
Maybe take a moment to light a candle,
Set yourself in front of an altar space,
And just take a moment to bring some intention and some ritual to this meditation.
If you find yourself in front of a candle or in front of an altar here,
Take a few moments,
And as you take a few deep breaths,
Just gently focus on your candle,
On your altar,
Arriving into this sacred space.
Bring your hands up to heart center in a prayer position and take a gentle bow,
Just having the feeling that you're bowing to your inner divine or that supreme spirit that lives within you and within the universe.
And as you're ready,
Please bring yourself into a comfortable seated posture with your spine erect.
Raise your palms down on your thighs and bring your thumb and your forefinger together to touch,
Creating little circles of wisdom on your legs.
Take a moment and feel that your hips and your thighs are heavy and grounded,
Like you were sinking into the floor.
Feel your spine arise out of this grounded foundation.
Lift up from the crown of your head.
Let your neck and your shoulders be soft.
Take a moment to soften the muscles around your face.
Let your eyelids and your cheeks relax.
Relax your tongue from the roof of your mouth.
As you inhale gently,
Allow your hearts to open and lift.
And as you exhale,
Allow your shoulders to relax down your back.
Inhale,
Lifting and opening the heart.
Exhale relaxing,
Softening your shoulders.
Let your breath come in and out naturally like this for a few rounds on your own,
Letting it help you relax into your posture.
And likewise,
Just as you relax around your physical body,
Invite yourself to relax around your mind,
Inviting all thoughts that arise and subside here to dissolve into your breath.
Take a moment to connect to your inner spaciousness here.
Now I'd like you to become aware of your inner heart space.
Physically,
Just a few inches behind your collarbone.
Allow your awareness with your breath to center in your heart space.
Begin to notice the energy in this space,
The energy of your heart.
How does it feel?
What do you sense?
Keeping your mind open,
Take a moment to just gently explore the space and the sensations,
The emotions in your heart today.
And as your awareness explores this heart space,
I'd like you to have the feeling that there is a doorway into your heart.
Notice what the door looks like as you visualize it on the back of your eyelids and you sense it in the depths of your heart.
Then visualize and sense this door opening and allow your attention to move inwards through the doorway deeper into your heart.
As you rest here,
Imagine your awareness,
Your consciousness,
Your intention merging with the energy of your heart.
Take a moment here leaning further into that sense of openness and rest in the love and compassion.
As you breathe in,
Feel that you're breathing in pure love,
Pure compassion.
And as you breathe out,
Allow this energy of pure love to radiate out from your heart.
Sense this energy filling up your whole body and radiating out,
Filling up the room that you're in,
Filling up the building,
Spilling out into the streets,
Radiating out into the world.
Take a few more deep breaths here and gently begin to guide your awareness back into your body.
Allow yourself to sit for a moment and savor this feeling.
If you have space behind you,
Feel free to lie back onto the floor and relax for just a moment.
I'd like to invite you whenever you are ready to come out of this practice to take your journal and just record whatever you've experienced here today.
And may we all go out into the world today,
Wherever you are,
With a beautiful,
Strong and radiant heart.
