It's time we change our relationship with social media.

Anxiety,

Inadequacy,

And depression,

They're all linked to heavy social media use.

But oftentimes it's our own mental reactions and attachments that cause the most harm.

If we can be intentional and loving,

Then social media can be an amazing tool to utilize in our success and in our community.

These positive affirmations will help you rewrite your social media narrative.

So as you're ready,

Please meet me in a comfortable seated position or lying comfortably on your back.

Start by just taking a moment to make yourself comfortable wherever you are in your body.

If it feels safe for you here,

You can relax the eyes.

And start by taking a few deep full breaths.

Going all the way down into the base of the belly.

Clearing out anything else that is not the here and now.

As you continue to breathe deeply here,

Begin to soften the physical body.

Relax and let go.

Letting your shoulders soften down your back.

Allow the neck to release.

Maybe the chin falls softly down towards the chest.

Allow your hips to soften.

Allow your forehead,

Your jaw,

Your eyes,

Even the crown of your head to just relax.

Let go.

As you soften the body here,

Gently unclench anywhere.

Even the most subtle areas of the body where we hold tension.

Allow yourself to release all of that here.

As you draw deeper into yourself,

Into your body,

Into your breath here,

Remind yourself that no matter what your feelings are showing up here to your practice,

To your meditation today,

That you are not your frustrations.

You are not your stressors.

You are not your to-do lists.

You are your breath.

You are your body.

You are yourself here in this exact moment.

Unshakable,

Unwavering.

Begin to let the static or the noise that sits over top of this divine presence allow that to gently fade into the background here.

It's okay if it's not that easy at first.

Use the urge to try to force anything.

Simply let go.

Allow yourself to be.

You're now tuning our awareness,

Tuning our ears even deeper inward,

Beginning to listen to your inner body here.

We listen to the inner body by listening to the rhythm of your breath.

We listen to the inner body by drawing our senses inwards,

By feeling our physical bodies from the inside out.

Again it's okay if this isn't coming very easily to you.

Resist the urge to try to do it the right way.

Instead just open up to whatever comes to you in your practice today.

Listening to your inner body.

Notice from this inner body where we will plant our affirmations.

Affirmations are positive,

Reinforcing statements that help us visualize the life that we aspire to live.

So as I offer these affirmations to you,

I invite you to repeat them internally to yourself.

Really let the meaning behind the words sink in to this inner space.

One more deep full breath before we begin.

My worth is not tied to a number on a screen.

I will no longer compare my journey to others.

Social media is a useful tool to spread positivity.

I prioritize creativity and authenticity.

I set digital boundaries that honor my mental and spiritual health.

My social media use has a purpose and a mission.

I am building a community of support and nourishment.

Allow the energy of those words to settle in your body and in your heart.

Remind yourself that this is your real life.

As it shows up before your eyes in this moment.

This is where we find our joy and our truth and our purpose.

That nothing and no one else can ever take that away from you.

Take one more deep full clearing breath inhale and exhale.

You can gently blink open your eyes.

Thank you for your practice.

Thank you for honoring yourself and honoring positivity.

Namaste.
