Welcome to Activating Alpha.

The Alpha Bridge connects the conscious and the unconscious mind.

Activating this connection allows you to become aware of and relax the autonomic nervous system in your body.

The autonomic nervous system regulates your heart rate and breath patterns.

As you practice forming this bridge,

You strengthen the mind-body connection,

Which can decrease anxieties and depressive feelings.

Let's begin.

Find a comfortable position.

Trust what that looks like for today.

Begin with three cleansing breaths.

Inhale through the nose.

Exhale through the mouth.

Again,

Deep inhale through the nose.

Strong exhale through the mouth.

One more.

Inhale.

Exhale.

Become acutely aware of your breath.

The sound.

The texture.

The movement.

Maintain this awareness.

Even as the mind moves,

Maintain awareness of your breath.

Breathe deeply.

Focus to your jaw and imagine relaxing in a bath of warm water.

The warm water melts the tension out of your jaw.

Allowing your tongue to float away from the roof of your mouth.

Invite spaciousness into your mind.

You are aware of your breath and the new space you created in your mind.

Get a short deep breath and space to the rest of your mind.

From your jaw,

Trace your awareness back into the base of your brain.

Feel a warm wave washing over the back of your brain,

Down all the way to your stomach.

Relax your abdomen.

Fill your belly with breath.

You are connected.

Breathe into this mind-body connection.

This is the strongest point of connection you have access to.

Stay with this connection for a few breaths.

Rest with yourself.

You are home.

As you are ready,

And if you are not,

Press pause.

Take a deep breath,

Filling your lungs to the very top.

Then melt the air out of your body.

Wiggle your toes,

Wiggle your fingers.

Open your awareness to the space around you.

Take this feeling with you throughout your day.

You are whole.
