Hi,

My name is Fleur and I'm happy to be here with you tonight.

So can you settle into bed now and just making sure that you are all comfy and warm?

And before you close down your eyes,

Can you just take a look around your room,

Noticing some of the things in there that you really like?

Maybe there are posters on your walls,

Books,

Instruments,

Toys or photos that make you happy.

And just taking a nice deep breath in and out and feeling happy that right now you are safe and warm in your room surrounded by lots of things that make you happy.

And closing down your eyes now and noticing any colours or shades that are moving across your closed eyes.

Noticing any sounds you can hear far away.

Noticing any sounds you can hear closer by.

Can you pick the moments of silence between the sounds?

If you listen carefully you may notice that you are also making some sounds.

And just noticing that even amidst these night time noises you can be still,

You can be safe and warm.

Noticing now all the places where your body comes in contact with the bed or the pillow below.

Maybe you can feel your head resting heavy on your pillow.

Can you feel your shoulders sinking into your bed a little?

Perhaps you can feel the back of your legs resting against your bed or even the heels of your feet.

And can you take a nice deep breath in and as you breathe out can you see if you can relax a little more?

Imagining yourself sinking a little deeper into your bed.

Ah it feels good doesn't it?

And can you do this one more time?

Taking a nice deep breath in and as you breathe out really sinking deeper into your bed.

Do you notice that each time you relax further into your bed,

Your bed rises up to support you?

It's almost like sinking into a cloud.

Pretty cool really.

Your bed is a very special place.

A place to feel safe and warm.

A place to let go of all your worries.

A place to dream and be free.

So here in this safe place I'm curious,

How was your day?

Was it busy,

Exciting,

Fun,

Hard or was it something else?

What is one thing you did today that was really fun?

One thing that made you feel really happy?

Can you picture this time in your mind now?

Who was there?

What were you doing?

Why was it fun?

Taking a nice deep breath in and out and offering this memory a smile.

Now let's see if you can send this smile and feeling of happiness into your whole body.

Are you up for the challenge of seeing if you can make your whole body smile?

You may have to use your imagination but I think you are ready for this challenge.

I think you are pretty clever and pretty creative and that together we can make our whole body smile from the inside out.

Beginning with the easy part,

Your mouth.

Can you turn your lips slightly upwards into a gentle smile?

Can you imagine your cheeks smiling and your eyes smiling too?

Taking a nice deep breath in and out and thinking about your chest,

Imagining your chest smiling now.

Imagining your heart inside your chest smiling.

Taking a deep breath into your tummy and as you breathe out imagining your tummy all relaxed and smiling.

Imagining this smile moving all the way down your legs to your feet and your ten toes.

Can you give all your ten toes a wiggle?

Just as if they are wiggling into the shape of a smile.

Now imagining this smile travelling all the way down your arms to your hands and your ten fingers.

Giving your fingers a little wiggle now and imagine that they are wiggling into the shape of a smile too.

This smile is now sinking further into your body.

I think your bones are smiling.

Even your blood is smiling as it moves around your body.

You are feeling all warm,

Happy and relaxed.

Now our whole bodies are smiling and are full of happiness.

So how about we try and share this feeling with our family and friends.

Taking a nice deep breath in and as you breathe out sending this smile out to all your family,

Maybe to your parents,

Grandparents,

Brothers,

Sisters,

Aunties and uncles and even to your cousins.

Sending this smile to your pet too if you have one.

Taking another deep breath in and as you breathe out sending this smile to all your friends,

To your old friends and to your new friends too.

Do you think you can send this smile out even further to animals all over the world?

Great!

So taking a deep breath in and as you breathe out sending this smile and sense of happiness out to all the dogs and cats,

To the lions and tigers,

To the giraffes and elephants,

To the dolphins and whales in the sea.

Sending this smile to the birds,

The bees and the butterflies,

Maybe even to the tiny creatures we can hardly see.

And do you think you can send this smile even further to all the children around the world who are tucked up in bed right now just like you?

Taking a nice deep breath in and as you breathe out imagining this smile travelling all around the world making children everywhere feel safe and happy.

It feels good to send our smiles out into the world don't you think?

Noticing now that you are all tucked up in bed that you are safe and warm and happy.

You are ready to drift off to sleep.

So listen to this nice peaceful music and soon you will be sound asleep.

I listened to this with my granddaughter. She was sound asleep within two minutes of the end. I cannot wait to hear her thought. As for mine, if I could give this 10 stars I would. It is a true guided meditation for young ones without a hint of condensation. The messages of reassurance are soothing, breath awareness as well as a body scan via a traveling smile was incorporated. Finally, smiles were sent out to family, friends, and an ever widening circle. For whatever reasons, I found myself rather emotional at the conclusion of this simple, powerful meditation for children. Thank you, Fleur, for sharing your gifts with this community. 💐🙏🏼
