Hi friend,
Welcome.
It's time to do a five-senses meditation practice with Hani the Silly Monkey and the Adventures of Super Stretch.
This is a super sensory awareness practice that will help your kiddo focus and learn new ways to deal with their big feelings and emotions.
I'm Super Stretch.
My friends and I live at 247 Mindful Pathway.
It's our mission to make balance a part of your day because you are a superstar even when you don't feel okay.
Did you know that you have five senses?
Sight,
Smell,
Sound,
Taste and touch.
Each one of them is really important in your everyday life.
You use at least one of your five senses every moment of every day and they are on duty even when you're asleep.
Your senses work together to let your brain focus and know what is going on around you.
We are going to dig into our super kit and tap into our life force.
Let go of stress and anxiety by creating fun tools to see in a new way and find freedom from fear to enjoy life's ever-changing adventures.
Come on friends,
Let's join the meditation with the Super Stretch team to discover how to make breathe,
Stretch,
Play a part of every day.
But before we start,
Remember that it may be hard at first to teach your body and to teach your mind to let go and relax.
It will get easier to stop for a minute,
Pay attention to your breath and feel what is going on inside of you.
We don't need to push anything.
There is always gonna be room for improvement and growth.
So take a breath,
Calm your mind and step forward.
Begin to feel a big smile wash over your face and take a deep breath in and a deep breath out.
Let's try that again.
Breathe in and breathe out and don't forget to put on your listening ears.
There's no place to go,
No job to do.
You're just breathing and observing.
For the five senses awareness practice you can be sitting up tall and lotus flower pose or on a chair.
But first we're gonna start by standing.
Did you know that one of the best ways to be calm is to breathe?
And one of super stretches favorite things to do is to stretch with Hani the silly monkey.
Especially when preparing for the five senses awareness practice.
Hani often needs to take a break.
He's usually been goofy,
Fidgety and not thinking straight all day.
Does that ever happen to you?
So when Hani feels this way he takes his body and folds forward from the waist.
Can you try this with him?
Stand up really tall,
Put your hands to your hips and with a little bend in your knees fold forward and let your arms dangle to the ground like you're gonna tickle your toes.
It feels like you just melted over.
Hani gets his body all floppy and relaxed,
Super loose and limp.
His head like yours now is below his heart and it's like he dumped out all of the stuff that's in his mind.
Do you feel everything pouring out?
Now he's not all wound up but he feels space in his brain,
Uncluttered,
Free of thoughts and less fidgety.
Still hanging over let's count to ten together.
You can even do it on your fingers.
One,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five,
Six,
Seven,
Eight,
Nine,
Ten.
Phew,
What a relief.
So much better.
Now slowly roll up to the count of three.
One,
Two,
Three and stretch your arms out like you are reaching for bananas from a tall tree.
Take a deep breath in and a deep breath out.
Hmm,
Let's sit back down in our chair or sitting in lotus flower pose on the ground.
We're gonna try to let our brain know what's going on around us by playing the five senses game.
This is a super way to focus and bring you to the here and now.
We're gonna practice sight.
Looking with your eyes name five things that you see in the room.
Practicing sound name five sounds that you hear around you right now.
Mmm,
Now we're gonna practice a sense of taste.
Name five tastes that make you think of your birthday.
Another of the five senses we have is the sense of smell.
Name five things that you can smell even if it's someone's stinky feet.
And the final of the five senses is touch.
Name five things that you can feel.
Wow,
I am so proud of you.
That is such a good practice to focus and pay attention.
Take a deep breath in,
A deep breath out.
Super stretch and everyone who lives at 247 Mindful Pathway believes that when we pay attention and focus our minds on something as simple as the five senses and observing the world around us it can make us feel so good and relaxed that we release all of the goofy fidgety feelings that we might be having.
Thank you friend for being such a good listener.
How do you feel now?
More stable and relaxed?
Super inside and out?
Remember that at any time you can find this quiet space to be the best person you can be because you have all kinds of tools in your super kit to stay calm,
Connected and happy.
You are a superhero and creating balance is your superpower.
I hope you are excited for the next adventure with super stretch.
Make Breathe Stretch Play a part of every day.
Love,
Super stretch.
