Please find a comfortable place where you can sit or lie down now for the next 10 minutes or so.

Put up your Do Not Disturb sign.

Get out your lavender oil,

Maybe light a candle.

Plug in your fairy lights if you have any,

And let's begin.

Let's start by doing a full body relaxation with some breathing.

Please start by breathing deeply in through your nose and out through your nose.

With every inhalation,

I want you to visualize that you're inhaling the peaceful,

Expansive energy that's all around you.

And on every exhalation,

Visualize that you're exhaling any limiting beliefs,

Any constriction,

Any pain,

Fatigue,

Or suffering.

Just allow all of that to leave your body with your breath.

Take another long,

Slow,

Deep breath in through your nose,

And let's start to relax the body with this exhalation.

Just relax with a sigh.

Now I want you to visualize or imagine a beautiful,

Warm,

Golden light starting at the bottom of your feet,

Moving up your body from below.

So please silently repeat in your mind after me,

My feet,

My toes,

My heels are relaxed.

My feet,

My toes,

And my heels are completely and totally relaxed.

Feel the warmth of that healing,

Golden light moving up your legs.

My ankles,

My shins,

My calves are relaxed.

My ankles,

My shins,

And my calves are completely and totally relaxed.

Feel that relaxation moving up your legs to your knees.

My knees,

My thighs,

My hips are relaxed.

My knees,

My thighs,

And my hips are completely and totally relaxed.

And now you feel the warmth of that relaxation moving to the front of your body.

My abdomen,

My internal organs,

My entire torso is relaxed.

My abdomen,

My internal organs,

And my entire torso,

Including my back,

Are completely and totally relaxed.

And now feel that beautiful,

Golden light,

The warmth of that light moving up your arms,

My hands,

My wrists,

My forearms,

My elbows,

My biceps,

And my triceps,

And my shoulders are all completely and totally relaxed.

And now you feel that beautiful,

Golden light moving up into your neck.

My neck,

My face,

My head are relaxed.

My neck,

My face,

And my head are completely and totally relaxed.

And last but not least,

My brain and my mind are relaxed.

My brain and my mind are completely and totally relaxed.

And now that you're relaxed from the top of your head to the tips of your toes,

You can visualize everything with perfect clarity.

So let's dive deep into the notion of self-love as an action and as an antidote to codependency.

Because really self-love is not a notion or just an idea.

Real self-love,

The kind that we're talking about,

Manifests itself in your daily actions.

As we continue on this shared journey into more self-awareness,

Remember that self-love is way more than a feeling.

It's really a way of living.

So I'm going to ask you right now,

You continue to feel deeply relaxed,

But bring to mind any situations or circumstances or relationships where you were able to draw effective boundaries or set a limit,

Speak truthfully,

Negotiate for your preference,

Potentially say no to something you didn't want to do.

So bring that to mind and allow yourself to feel the feelings right in the middle of your chest.

Those feelings of empowerment,

Relief,

Joy,

Of how good it feels to assert yourself,

To be seen,

To be heard,

To be known.

Keep those positive feelings conjured right there in your body.

And now we're going to slowly begin to memorize how they feel physically.

So just put your attention on wherever they show up for you.

What does empowerment feel like?

Physically memorize that.

What does it feel like to assert yourself?

And now take a long,

Slow,

Deep breath.

And let's move into memorizing the way those successful experiences feel emotionally.

What is that like?

Can you name the emotion?

Can you memorize how it feels?

Is it liberating?

Do you feel powerful?

Do you feel free?

And now please bring to mind any situation,

Circumstance,

Or relationship currently in your life that you could use to strengthen your boundaries,

That you could use to be less codependently attached in.

Maybe you need more truth-telling in those relationships.

And just bring them into your mind's eye.

And visualize yourself handling those situations with ease.

Speaking your truth with grace.

Speaking your truth with love.

Knowing that it's really not about the outcome.

It's really not about how the other person responds.

It's about you honoring you.

I love and honor myself with ease and joy.

Please begin to silently repeat the affirmation,

I love and honor myself with ease and joy.

And I'll let you know when it's time to come back.

I love and honor myself with ease and joy.

You can gently stop repeating the affirmation now.

And just allow those feelings of self-love,

Empowerment,

Freedom,

Wash over you like a waterfall.

Take one last deep breath.

And please start to bring your awareness back to your body.

Back to the room that you're in.

The couch or the bed or the chair that you might be lying on.

Start deepening your breath.

You can stretch your hands.

And rock your feet.

And give yourself a full body stretch.

And take this energy,

This inspiration and this excitement,

Out into today,

This week,

This month.

Because this is the antidote to those codependent behaviors.

And as always,

Take care of you.

This was a wonderful meditation but it could have been a lot longer and more effective if more space had been left between the speaking.
