Hey there friend,
Welcome back.
I'm so happy that you joined me again today.
My name is Theresa Marie and tonight I'm going to read you a story by author Emily Winfield Martin.
She drew all of the pictures for the book too.
And this story is about the first time that there's ever been a you.
I wonder what wonderful things you will do.
You're caring and bold and clever.
What will you grow up to be?
But first,
If you haven't already,
Let's make sure that you've used the restroom and you can come back to find a comfortable position,
Relaxing or lying down in bed.
Maybe get your pillow or a blanket and something you can snuggle with while we relax.
And begin to slow down.
Let's close our eyes if you feel safe and comfortable to do so.
And we can take a couple of deep breaths together.
We can breathe in through our noses and blow it out your mouth.
Breathing in through our noses and blowing out through our mouths.
You can let the day that we've just had melt away and we can relax as you listen to the sound of my voice.
I'm going to read the book,
The Wonderful Things You Will Be by Emily Winfield Martin.
Okay,
Here we go.
When I look at you and you look at me,
I wonder what wonderful things you will be.
When you were too small to tell me hello,
I knew you were someone I wanted to know.
For all of your tininess couldn't disguise a heart so enormous and wild and wise.
This is the first time there's ever been you.
So I wonder what wonderful things you will do.
Will you stand up for good by saving the day or play a song only you know how to play?
Will you tell a story that only you know?
Will you learn what it means to help things grow?
Will you learn how to fly to find the best view or take care of things much smaller than you?
I know you'll be kind and clever and bold and the bigger your heart,
The more it will hold.
When the nights are black and when the days are gray,
You'll be brave and be bright so no shadows can stay.
And then you will discover all there is to see and become anybody that you'd like to be.
And then I'll look at you and you'll look at me and I'll love you,
Whoever you've grown up to be.
The end.
Thank you so much for sitting with me today while I read this beautiful story.
I hope you liked it.
It's one of my favorites.
If you'd like and you still have the time,
Keep still and keep relaxing.
Laying here or relaxing for just a few more minutes,
Either before heading on to sleep or continuing on with your day.
You are truly such a miracle to so many people in your life and I don't want you to ever forget it.
So when I say namaste to you,
It means the light in me sees the light in you.
And so until next time,
Namaste sweetheart.
